Justin Timberlake struck gold with the release of his album “The 20/20 Experience,” literally. First week sales are in and JT sky rocketed passed a gold certification and landed on the heels of platinum as he topped the Billboard 200 chart with 968,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan, of “20/20” sold!
This is Justin’s biggest album debut ever and sits comfortably as the “19th-largest sales week for an album since SoundScan started tracking data in 1991,” reports Rap-Up.

It’ been over 10 years (count em’) since Eve dropped a project for the masses. With the success of Nicki Minaj opening doors for female rappers to stake their claim in the industry, Eve has set forth to release “Lip Lock,” something she tells Billboard “I don’t want people to take too seriously.” Not sure why she would say a thing like that, but, just in case you want to hear what Eve’s rapping about these days, pick up the 12-track disc on May 14th!
Hip-hop magazine XXL released their annual “Freshman Class” cover–adding their cosign to the up and coming emcees of the new school–and this time around black female rapper Angel Haze made the cut! Angel Haze was featured on the 2012 BET Awards cypher, where she rocked her Aaliyah inspired swoop and showcased her confident rhymes.
