Light Skin is the right skin

In this current age, when the debate about skin color is a prevalent issue in the black community, it is dangerous to rap about the “right skin.” Some will argue, “the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice,” unless that person is Consequence who, clearly, is into the white skin. Hence, his baby’s mother Jen. On last night’s episode he dropped a verse on Lore’l’s song with the lyrics “light skin is the right skin, so you, you, you, you and your white friend.” It’s all to reminiscent of Jen “The Pens” comment about being alright because of her race. As Raqi said “she’s his white nubian queen.”
