It looks like we can officially bury that old hot pressing comb of ours, and introduce our tresses to the EdgeStick–a safer alternative to the hot comb–thanks to Jason Ray of Suntek Global. He first capture the beauty industry’s attention in 2011 when his ceramic hot comb won an Essence Magazine Beauty Award. We’ve had our eyes on the genius invention ever since.

Jason and his team sent an EdgeStick our way to test and, boy oh boy, I am in love!

WHAT IT DOES: Unlike a hot comb, the EdgeStick does not expel heat from the comb to straighten your hair. The heat comes from the ceramic/tourmaline center core rod. The comb acts as a guard protecting your skin and your edges.

THE VERDICT: I adore this tool. The temperature goes up to 450 but 350 was my limit. If you have a weave with a little of your own hair left out, the EdgeStick is your new besties. It’s also a perfect solution for retouching my blow-out after my gym visits.

Grab your EdgeStick here.
