Where is Kim Kardashian from? Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 21, 1980. It’s likely due to her exotic good looks that people guess Kim hails from outside the United States, and she owes her dark eyes and complexion to her parents. Her late father, the noted O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Kardashian, was third generation Armenian American, and her mother, Kris Kardashian, is of Scottish and Dutch heritage. In a 2008 blog post, Kim revealed that the man she’d always been told was her maternal grandfather was, in fact, a step-grandfather, and that she subsequently has none of his Irish and German blood.

(It’s open for debate which nation of origin is responsible for her famous badonkadonk.)

Kardashian grew up in L.A. and attended Marymount High School, an all-girls prep school located in the posh Holmby Hills/Bel Air area. Kim’s parents divorced in 1990, and the following year, Kris married Bruce Jenner, a two-time Olympic gold medalist who came to the relationship with four children from two previous marriages. Kris and Bruce then had two daughters, Kendall Nicole and Kylie Kristen—both of whom are Kim’s half-sisters.
