This year’s Grammy Awards just got a whole lot cooler! Rapper turned actor and two-time Grammy Winner LL Cool J will host the 2012 Grammy Awards, making him the show’s first official host in seven years People magazine reported Wednesday.

“I’m thrilled to be part of music’s biggest night,” he said in a statement. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”

The last person to host the Grammys? Queen Latifah.

This year’s show will feature performances by Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Adele and more. Will you be watching?
