How skinny is too skinny? Last night, the Victoria Secret Fashion Show aired on CBS and I can only imagine that every girl with dreams of being a supermodel tuned in to watch the show. Victoria Secret’s Angels such as Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, and Joan Smalls walked the cat walk strutting sexy lingerie including a $2.5 million bra that was to die for. The models were ridiculously gorgeous, per usual, with their super long legs and flat stomachs. But while you’re sitting at home on your couch stuffing your face with potato chips, it can only make you wonder: are these models too skinny?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m one for fitness and health and believe that every woman should take great care of her body but I can only wonder what the images of a skinny, beautiful, Victoria Secret Angel can do to youth that struggle with image issues. Where are all the curvy Victoria Secret models? The average woman has a little more meat on her bones these days and I think that it would be great to see a Victoria Secret Angel that looks a little more like you and I on that cat walk.

Aside from the lack of curvy models on the runway, there was also a lack of  models with faces of color on this year’s show. Aside from performances from Jay Z and Kanye, and Nicki Minaj, there weren’t very many black faces on the runway. While I absolutely adore Chanel Iman, Joan Smalls and Lais Ribeiro, it wouldn’t hurt to see a little more African-American models on next year’s show, or at least give these three beauties more camera time!

Overall, I loved the fashion show, as I do every year!

What do you think? Are the models too skinny? Would you like to see more black models on the runway?
