Serena Williams had to withdraw from the Hopman Cup because of injuries.

Due to an inflamed left knee, Williams had to leave mid-game while down 2-1 against her Australian opponent Jamila Wolfe.

The Hopman Cup took to their twitter page to break the hard news:

Williams, as the champion and fighter she is, waived off the pain:

“I just have some inflammation that’s been going away very slowly. It is going away but it needs a little more time,” Williams told reporters at the Perth event, according to CNN.

In true Serena fashion, she is ready to get back on the court already,”It’s not even a bump — just a really minor thing in the road and I’ll fly over it.”

And superwoman fly over it she will.

Williams is using the Hopman Cup as preparation for the Australian Open crown, as she continues her quest for tennis domination on the all-time grand slam winners list, CNN reports.

We know our shero will pull through.
