Wendy Williams is no stranger to controversy or her mouth getting her into trouble. But in the age of social media, the aforementioned can lead to fall out of epic proportions, online, that is, especially when you mess with pop stars’ psycho fans. That’s exactly what happened when Williams said something about Ariana Grande that the latter’s fans weren’t thrilled about.

Apparently Williams said she didn’t look at Grande as a woman because she will forever look like a 12-year-old. Here’s the quote:

“She’s 21. She’ll forever look 12. Which, I don’t mean that in a good way… You know, it’s nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young, and then you’re short – she’s only like 4’11. I don’t look at her as, like, a woman.”

Grande’s fans took that to mean that Williams was body shaming their beloved icon, and have been trending  #CancelWendyWilliamsShow.

To me, Williams’ comments weren’t didn’t really seem like body-shaming. They were rude, but seemed more like an observation than intent to shame. The best thing anyone who doesn’t like Williams’ comments can do is not watch the show.

What say you?
