Y’all just don’t know my gym struggles. I really have to plan my workouts around my blow outs. And if I just so happen to splurge on my hair and make an appointment at The Dry Bar, it’s a wrap for working out the rest of the week. I swear, trying to be skinny and being a naturalista with healthy hair is starting to become the vain of my existence.

But things are about to change.

I was surfing on Instagram (everyone’s daily obsession) and peeped my lovebug, Kela Walker sporting a goddess braid. She looked so cute and fabulous that I thought, “O-M-G, that’s perfect for my gym days!” But! Flag on the play…I cannot braid. You would think that I could since I’ve had long hair most of my life. But my mother couldn’t braid, so it was a skill that I never learned.

But I was determined to make this work for me. I could no longer sacrifice my workouts for fly hair. So I decided to remix a traditional hairstyle and give it a twist. Literally.
