Kanye West chucked the deuces to Nike and signed a new $10 million deal with Adidas.

Last week, the Grammy Award-winning artist spoke briefly about the new partnership during a radio interview on Hot 97, and today Adidas confirmed the pairing in a press release.

“For 2014, we welcome to the adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West,” the sports apparel brand stated. “Well known for breaking boundaries across music, film and design and partnering with our history in street wear culture and leading innovations in sport, we look forward to creating a new chapter. Details to follow.”

The rapper has been very vocal about his sour relationship with Nike, the multibillion-dollar enterprise that released his uber-successful Air Yeezy shoe but refused to give him royalties.

“I said, ‘Well I need royalties.’ It’s not even like I have a joint venture. At least give me some royalties. Michael Jordan has 5 percent and that business is $2 billion. He makes a $100 million dollars a year off of 5 percent royalties. Nike told me, ‘We can’t give you royalties because you’re not a professional athlete.’ I told them, ‘I go to the Garden and play one-on-no one. I’m a performance athlete!’”

He even called out the company’s CEO Mark Parker during a Yeezus tour stop in Nashville on November 27.

“Do you know who the head of Nike is?” Kanye asked the crowd. “No, well let me tell you who he is: His name is Mark Parker, and he just lost culture. Everyone at Nike, everyone at Nike, Mark Parker just let go of culture.”

“I’m talking directly to you. No miscommunication,” he continued. “Did you not want the Yeezys? Nike would make you believe it was my fault that you couldn’t get them, but that was not the case. I wanted there to be as many Yeezys as there was LeBrons, and I wanted them to be at a good price, but that was not my choice, and we’re going to change everything. And … I’m going to create more than you think that any musician in the history of time ever could have.”

Ye told Angie Martinez the he “took the Adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family…I’m gonna be the first hip-hop designer and because of that, I’m gonna be bigger than Wal-Mart.”

There’s still no word on when the Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers will drop, if ever.
