A trending topic around the Black Planet community, regarding the odd “love” triangle between who comes first in a married man’s life: a his mother or his wife, and while gathering my thoughts to write this post, I couldn’t help but compare the situation to that of a game or a pageant type competition.
“First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage,” right? Well where in that equation does the mother fit in, or is that the point, that once you’ve started your own family it is time to move on? While I’m no mother, wife or soon to be either, it does make me wonder who comes in first places and who is the runner up.
This reminds me of Jim Jones mother, Nancy better known as “Mama Jones” and his fiance and i used that term loose as hell Chrissy’s relationship on VH1’s “Love And Hip Hop.” Jim Jones is torn between his strong-willed, opinionated mother and his relentless fiance Chrissy, but it really should not have to be that way. You should never have to choose between any of the people you love in order to maintain the peace and happiness. Have any of you guys ever been put in that type of situation, if so how did you handle it. If not, what would you do if you were?
