Name: Esperanza Spalding | Recording Artist
Winning a Grammy for “Best New Artist” in 2011, Esperanza started her career as a jazz artist in 2008, releasing her first album Esperanza. The introduction of this album gave fans across the world a chance to witness a instrumentalist, vocalist and composer. She went on to release Chamber Music Society.
Some highlights in her career include two White House appearances, an invitation from President Obama to perform at the Nobel Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway, and featured in the May 2010 Anniversary issue of O, The Oprah Magazine’s “Women on the Rise”. Esperanza’s career accolades have far exceeded what people can expect from such a new artist, and thus has inspired and motivated people across the world.
What we can expect in the future is Esperanza returning to the studio where she will continue recording her next album, Radio Music Society. We also expect her to open the eyes of our youth to the world of Jazz, the foundation of the music today.
