Kelly Rowland has announced the title of her upcoming third album. She initially wanted it to be a self-titled record, then she asked her fans to name it by submitting suggestions but, it seems, she’s scrapped both of those ideas.
Kelly’s new album will be called “Here I Am.” She told Billboard magazine:
“I was talking to my product manager; I wanted people to know that this is the record, the sound I’ve been working toward… that here I am. And she said, that’s the title. It just connected with my heart and the music as well. It stands for everything I’ve gone through and thought about for this record as a woman. It’s very strong.”
Ironically, Beyonce revealed the name of her upcoming album this week, too…to the same magazine.
We’re not huge fans of the title. We felt like we’d heard it before and then we realized “Here I Am” was the name of Eve’s album that produced the hits “Tambourine” and “Give It To You” ft. Sean Paul, but never saw an official release. It’s also the name of Monica’s third single off her most recent album “Still Standing” which features Trey Songz.
