With Earth Day 2011 just around the corner (April 21-23), the big issue of sustainability and becoming more eco-friendly, has never been more relevant. Everyone is becoming more and more conscious of wasting water by leaving taps running,or having long showers, we are all trying to use the electricity less, whether it be the heating, air-conditioning, clothes dryer, or the dishwasher, we are all trying to waste less food and of course; recycle more!

But what about fashion?

If you’re like me, “eco friendly clothing,” (as stereotypical as it is) used to remind you of hippies, with dreadlocks and muslin ponchos. Not exactly what I would call high fashion. But not anymore. These days more and more designers are embracing the eco-friendly trend, and are committed to making beautiful clothes with a conscience. And, the best part? They are all at very affordable prices, which make it nearly impossible to ignore the attraction of adding sustainable fashion to your wardrobe!
