It’s almost summertime, and if you live in a place that snows, you know that summer means flip flops, stored winter coats, picnics, and bike riding! Okay, I won’t lie – I haven’t ridden a bike in godknowshowlong. But this Townie Sport 105 by Electra Bicycles has me wanting to put on a sundress and head to Central Park.
The Townie Sport 105 is Electra’s high-end performance bike. It’s basically a combination between a performance bike for people who actually ride for fitness, and a dainty little two-wheeler for people like me, who just want to ride around and look cute. Electra incorporated their patented Flat Foot Technology into the Townie Sport 105, which means that you can still ride it as a performance bike, without having to be all hunched over the handlebars like regular racers do. And if you’ve ever suffered from back problems, you’d know how much that totally sucks.
The new seating position of the bike, thanks to FFT, lets you sit upright, and helps reduce tension in the back, neck, shoulders, arms and wrists, and opens up a wider view of the road. And when you want to stop, you can plant your feet firmly on the ground. Which is great for average bike riders who can’t speed downhill without being terrified or running into objects. Or maybe that’s just me.
