This year’s PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive issue started off with so much promise, as they announced that Queen Sugar’s Kofi Siriboe would be included in the annual issue. I mean all that melanin MUST HAVE meant a man of color would be awarded the coveted spot.

But sadly, that was not the case. Instead, it was announced that country singer and The Voice coach, Blake Shelton won the top prize. And no shade to Shelton, who is a mildly handsome man, he isn’t the sexiest. Especially when there are SO many more men who are much, much, much sexier than he is.

If it were up to us, here are 25 fellas of color that should have been awarded the top spot.
