Ledisi knows exactly who she is, what she wants and what she has to do to achieve it. Among those things is trusting herself and not letting what everyone else has to say affect her decision to be happy. But things weren’t always that way for the New Orleans-native.
“In the beginning it was hard because I didn’t know myself. But once you stand in who you are, your full truth. I’m comfortable now. I don’t care if you get my lane or not,” she revealed during an interview with InterludesLIVE host Smokey Fontaine. “I have to just do me. As long as I care and I’m happy and I’m walking in my walk, proudly and stern and committed…because once you commit to your lane, have fun in it. If I tried to focus on what everybody else thinks, I’d give up.”
