When are the Oscars? The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The 86th Annual Academy Awards, as they’re officially known, will air live on ABC, and if the date seems a bit late, it’s because the Oscars have been pushed back as to not interfere with the 2014 Winter Olympics. Who’s hosting the Oscars? That would be Ellen DeGeneres, back for her second time. Ellen last presided over the show in 2007.

“When are the Oscars?” It’s a question movie fans can never ask too early, and indeed, planning has already begun for the annual event, at which the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honors achievement in filmmaking. When will the Oscar nominations be announced? The names will be read on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, and Academy members will have until Tuesday, Feb. 25, to vote on their favorites.

If you ask the Academy, “When are the Oscars?” they can go one better than giving you the date of the 2014 ceremony. Plans have also been made for 87th Academy Awards. When are the 2015 Oscars? They’ll take place on Sunday, Feb. 22, and will also be held at the Dolby Theatre. ABC has TV rights to that broadcast, but the host has not been announced.

Who are the 2014 Oscar frontrunners? Among the films critics think might win Best Picture a the 86th Annual Academy Awards are “Before Midnight,” “Gravity,” “Fruitvale Station,” “Blue Jasmine,” and “Nebraska.” Possible Best Actor winners at the 2014 Oscars include Michael B. Jordan (“Fruitvale Station”) and Forest Whitaker (“The Butler”), while potential Best Actress nominees include Sandra Bullock (“Gravity”) and Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine”).

When are the Oscars? They’re March 2, 2014, so mark your calendars, movie buffs, and get ready to start rooting on your favorites, rating everyone’s outfits and guffawing at Ellen’s jokes.
