When is Tamar Braxton‘s album coming out? Tamar Braxton’s new album, “Love & War,” comes out in September 2013, as the singer and reality TV star revealed last month while co-hosting the BET Awards nomination special. Tamar’s new album had originally been due out in February 2013, following the chart success of the record’s title track—a No. 13 hit on the U.S. R&B chart—but the “Braxton Family Values” and “Tamar & Vince” star opted to push back the release to focus on becoming a mother.

If “Love & War” comes out in September 2013—there’s always a chance it’ll be delayed again—Tamar Braxton will likely be three months into motherhood, as she and her husband, Vincent Herbert, are expecting their first child in June. To promote “Love & War,” Tamar released a second single, “The One,” which reached No. 40 on the R&B chart. When “Love & War” comes out, it’ll mark Tamar’s first full-length solo album since 2000’s “Tamar.” As a member of the Braxtons, she released “So Many Ways,” a modest chart success, in 1996.

Tamar Braxton’s new album can’t drop soon enough for some critics, and in a scathing post on her blog, writer Toya has blasted the singer for failing to strike while the iron was hot and release “Love & War” while the title track was still riding high.

“It irritates me that she was not smart enough to capitalise on the success of the album’s lead single of the same name,” Toya writes. “Chances are, it may not be so easy for her to repeat that same success with another R&B single. I have already expressed my concerns that newest single ‘The One’ is not strong enough to carry an album let alone secure those solid first week numbers.” Lava Lizard writer Trini Trent voiced similar concerns, opining that “unless Braxton has a C-section, liposuction and hires a fulltime nanny (her sister Towanda) to take care of her child, she won’t have the time to properly promote Love & War in the fall.”

Of course, she’ll have a new season of “Tamar & Vince” to help with the promo push, not to mention the added attention that comes with giving birth, so “Love & War” could surprise folks and become a smash. Time will tell.
