For Fall 2013, designer B Michael celebrated a woman’s feminity and her unique essence. In front of a packed crowd, Michael (who once worked for Oscar de la Renta) did what he does best and sent out an assortment of flowy gowns and fitted sheaths.
There were options for everything from luncheons to black tie affairs. Colors most prominent included: a gorgeous deep scarlet, cobalt blue, and sea moss. A strapless, embroidered berry hued gown and an off-the-shoulder blue and black paneled cocktail dress made my list of must-haves. Backstage, I caught up with the iconic Phylicia Rashad who shared her favorite dresses from the collection.
“I loved the simple black sheath with ribbon. And I also loved the gown that reminded me of a sari at the top, that was one-shouldered and blush colored. I loved that very much! And…the gown with the black and red feathers!”
