Hurricane Sandy may have taken over your week if you’re in the Northeast. The record-breaking storm left many without power and devastated most of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and more. Like our president, our hearts go out to all those dealing with Sandy’s aftermath, even though there are people out there that believe President Obama acted “took quickly” with Sandy.

Must Read: Mitt Romney Disaster Relief Position Faces Scrutiny

Yeah I could hardly believe my own eyes when I read it. Speaking of hard to believe, Casey Anthony’s attorney wants everyone involved in the George Zimmerman case to keep his name out of their mouths. SMH. What in the world is our world coming to? Teachers are even considering bribing parents for participation in their child’s education. There’s a few headlines from this week that smart chicks like you should be chatting about. Here’s a list for you.

As always, you’re welcome.

1. Casey Anthony’s Lawyer Wants In On George Zimmerman’s Case

Casey Anthony, the mother of the gone-too-soon Caylee Anthony has made headlines again. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from her, but this time, it’s because of her lawyer, Joey Baez. The attorney has written a letter to the judge in Florida self-appointed neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman. Baez may have gotten Anthony away with murder, but he doesn’t want anyone involved in Zimmerman’s case mentioning him. Check out the full story on Huffington Post.

2. President Obama Responds To Hurricane Sandy Quickly…Almost TOO Quickly

Most of us remember Hurricane Katrina and the delay in rescuing the people of New Orleans. President Bush received lots of criticism, but he was never chastised for his lack of care. As soon as it was realized that Hurricane Sandy was going to be something devastating, President Obama responded. He offered aid and hope to people in the Northeast. For some reason, none of this was good enough for Former FEMA Director Michael Brown. Brown seems to think President Obama acted too soon as opposed to his reaction to Libya. Check out the disgusting story in full on Think Progress.

3. Chicago Schools Want To Bribe Parents

Chicago schools have started a pilot program at 70 public schools. As a part of the program, Chicago parents will be given $25 Walgreens “Balance Rewards” cards in exchange for picking up their child’s report cards and attending parent-teacher conferences, according to a press release from the city. Basically parents will receive incentives for doing what they’re supposed to do…as parents! Has it really come to this? Are there parents that disconnected from their children’s education? 4. Denzel Washingon As Black Jesus?

Vanity Fair and 60 Minutes took a poll and asked a bunch of random questions like, what’s the most annoying hand gesture, would you prefer your partner overweight or uneducated, what is Kwaanza and if you were directing a new film version of the New Testament, which actor would you cast to play Jesus? The actors that they provided for us to choose from were: Woody Allen, Ryan Gosling, Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Daniel Day Lewis. The response was overwhelming for Denzel Washington. He landed 21% of votes while “None Of Them” came in at a close second with 15%. Check out the full story on Madame Noire!
