SNL is known for their commentary on pop culture, while keeping things light and funny. On the latest episode, the show used their Piers Morgan skit to comment on Trayvon Martin’s murder case via Florida’s crazy laws, fake law enforcement (Ice T played by Fred Armisen) and celebrities that support Trayvon (Kim Kardashian and Kanye West played by Nasim Pedrad and Jay Pharoah).
Although certain parts were laughale–when Florida tourism board member made light of Florida’s laws, like “You Snooze You Lose” and “See You Later Alligator.” However, when Kim K and Kanye West characters were sprinkled in the skit to make Trayvon Martin’s case a bit of a joke, it got a little uncomfortable.
