I, in the beginning, was a huge fan of Nicki Minaj. I looked passed her obvious jacking of Lil Kim’s style and chalked it up to the notion that “no thought is original.” I am a big Lil’ Kim fan but I also feel that there is room in the world for more than one great female rapper.
“Roman’s Revenge” was the track that sealed the deal for me. I just knew that Nicki would follow in the footsteps of Kim who ran with the boys, rapped just as hard and maintained her sexy while doing it!
With the recent release of Nicki’s tracks: “Starships” and “Roman Holiday” she, has been accused of “selling out.” The “poppy” anthems are house-music compared to “Moment For Life” or “Right Thru Me.” Nicki came out blazing in 2010, she seemed fresh and innovative but are her antics now a bit contrived and lacking creativity?
She performed at the 2012 NBA Allstar game last night and it was…well a typical Nicki performance.
