When I first read the article on the British study saying that the G-Spot doesn’t exist I was appalled.

As a sex educator for a well-known women friendly, sex positive sex toy boutique I recommend products and books to help people find their G-Spots on a daily basis. The G-Spot does exist and I’m going to tell you why. More importantly society should not put such great emphasis on how women get their pleasure and what type of pleasure they have. Everyone is different, just like how some people have large and small breasts, or big and small booties. Trying to categorize every person’s sexuality is ultimately flawed and hinders our expression of ourselves.

In the study, scientists surveyed more than 1,800 British women and they found that no consistent pattern emerged, and they’re probably right. Not ever person with a G-Spot will have the same orgasm or get same pleasure from it. Some people like vibration, some people do not and some people don’t even like G-Spot orgasms at all. So of course you’re not going to get the same results from a broad study. Also, the language in the article is questionable. They describe the G-Spot being a cluster of nerves when actually it is a number of glands and ducts as well as nerve endings that surround the urethra. If the doctors don’t know what the G-Spot is in the first place, how on earth are they going to prove that it does or doesn’t exist?

Whether the G-Spot exists or not, it has been documented that stimulating this area through the vaginal canal feels great and can bring on orgasm. Do we really need to dig deep and find actual evidence of a body party to justify someone’s pleasure? Calling it a “figment of women’s imaginations” is a bold statement and just down right not sex positive. How can something that people feel and describe as mind-blowing prove to be make believe? Ask you self these questions when you read about the study. Just because some doctors want to create false or inaccurate information to shame women or control what women think about their bodies and sexuality doesn’t mean you have to buy into it. I recommend reading some great literature about the G-Spot and making an educated decision for yourself.

If you haven’t “found” the G-Spot yet here’s a list of books that are well written and provide accurate information. Remember, not everyone has the same experiences with the G-Spot. How your body responds is normal and embrace that!
