Acting veterans had words of wisdom for “Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe. Alfre Woodard, Viola Davis, and other prominent Oscar winning and nominated women gathered Wednesday night and advised Gaby how to handle awards day jitters.
Viola said, “Have fun. Do not take it seriously because at the end of the day when the awards are over and the red carpet rolls up, you have to go back to being an actor and you’re going to be an actor a whole lot longer than you’re going to be at the Academy Awards.”
Last year’s nominee Taraji P. Henson, for her role in ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ offered, “Just enjoy the ride…Write everything down. Keep a journal.”
