The Rundown On Sherri Shepherd’s New Show
Sherri Shepherd is best known for her spot on the hit daytime talk show, “The View.” However, she has recently ventured out on her own via a new Lifetime sitcom entitled “Sherri.” The show is about a single mother, Sherri Robinson, dealing with a recent messy divorce. In the pilot episode, Sherri learns that not only did her husband cheat, resulting in their divorce, but his 20 year old white mistress was now claiming to be 6 months pregnant. The character struggles to deal with the news, but finds some solace in the support of her friends. She also learns that her son’s pediatrician is smitten with her, and accordingly her declining love life begins to look up.
The show tackles real life, serious issues like infidelity, marriage and love, but manages to do so in a surprisingly comedic way. Sherri is lovable, and more important relatable. The enormity of the situation the character is placed in does not weigh too heavily on the viewer, even when Sherri and the young mistress find themselves locked in a car together with nothing to discuss but the truth. Overall the show delivers many huge laughs and a story line that seems to be unraveling to reveal a hot ghetto mess. Already we have Sherri, the black woman scorned, a cheating husband and a white mistress. Cliche? Perhaps. Good TV? Definitely!
For some light entertainment and a few good laughs, we recommend Sherri. Those of you seeking complexity need not apply.

Just what we needed: another stupid talk show that will be fortunate to survive sweeps month. Don’t we have enough fat girls with talk shows already?

I’ve watched it each night this week….truly gave it a try but it’s not funny…borders stupid. They have two new shows back to back on Lifetime The Sherri Show and Rita Rocks (?) Honestly wasn’t feeling them.

Some people will always look at situations beyond whats on the face. I will admit that I’m not a big TV watcher, but since Cosby, has there been another sitcom or drama, that shows a positive black man, in a role of a Doctor, lawyer, engineer etc. who also is not divorced or cheating on his wife? I thought the Cosby show was supposed to break down these doors and put black men in more positive roles..Instead we have more of the same depictions of no good black men who can’t be trusted. Image is everything in Hollywood!

I would watch this before I would watch MoNique and thats sayin alot, aint it on Lifetime… But check this out, how ironic is it that two black women have a show premiering around the same time??? Hmmmmmm?

I’M KIND OF ANNOYED BY THE MAKING AN ISSUE OUT OF THE FACT SHE’S WHITE…BUT I GUESS SHE ONLY REALLY BROUGHT IT UP IN THAT ONE EPISODE….OTHER THAN THAT THE SHOW/SHERRI IS PRETTY FUNNY…ACTUALLY THE MAIN THING THAT KEEPS ME TUNING IN IS MALCOLM BEING IN IT…ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM

I heard it is REALLY good (funny). My friend has been tuning in to the sneak peeks. Malcom Jamal Warner is also on the show so that should be interesting. I am going to tune in and give it a try.

I’m happy for her. She’s really a funny person. I always enjoyed her when she was on Jamie Foxx and ELR. The show sounds better than 90% of the mess u would c elsewhere.
