Maxwell Debuts At #1
Our favorite R&B hottie Maxwell, has landed on the Billboard Top 200 at #1 this week with his long-awaited fourth studio album “BLACKsummers’night”.
With first week’s sales of 316,499, according to SoundScan, BLACKsummers’night is enjoying the highest debut sales week, and best overall sales week of Maxwell’s career. BLACKsummers’night is #1 on the SoundScan Album Retailer chart and is #1 on the Current R&B chart.
This is Maxwell’s first album since “Now”, which also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 in August 2001.
Maxwell returned to the top of the singles charts when “Pretty Wings”, the first single from “BLACKsummers’night”, shot to the #1 slot on America’s Urban Adult radio. Pretty Wings has spent four weeks in the #1 spot of Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart, where it’s closely followed by “Cold”, another single from “BLACKsummers’night.”

Maxwell has been under the radar for 2 long…I’m happy 2 see he is getting the recognition on his 4th album. I truly enjoy his new album…Fistful of Tears & Cold is my favorites!! I have listened 2 the CD so much that I have already memorized most of the songs..lol Thank u Maxwell for bringing back “REAL” R&B on the air waves…Bravo!!!

I am soo thrilled! It’s about time that TRULY GREAT music receives the accolades and recognition it deserves..This man is a TRUE artist, unlike a few clowns I could name..I hope to hear more hits on the 2nd installment of BlackSummer’s Night..I wonder if it’s a play on the Shakespeare play? Probably; he is SOOO creative! Love him!

He is one fine man, I just saw him in concert and he knows how to put on a good performance, one of my favorite songs right now is “fistful of tears” and of course “Pretty wings” is another but I’ve been playin it out a little too much…lol.
