Neyo To Chris: That S*it Is Inexcusable
Neyo says Rihanna is ‘fine,’ but the leaked photo ‘hurt me to my heart.’
The singer recently sat down with MTV and offered his thoughts on the situation. “I wanted to talk to them before I made a comment,” he said about the much-publicized incident that occurred several hours before the Grammy Awards on February 8. Brown turned himself in to police during the awards show and was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and released. “I spoke to Rihanna. She says she’s fine. She didn’t go into detail about what happened. I understand it’s a painful situation; I didn’t push.”
Like so many of Rihanna’s fans, friends and family members, Ne-Yo said he was grief-stricken after viewing the recently leaked photo of a bruised and apparently battered Rihanna shortly after her altercation with Brown.
“I saw the picture,” he said solemnly. “That just really – that hurt me to my heart, man. Again, I still don’t know what happened, ’cause I haven’t had the opportunity to talk to Chris yet. But to take it to that level really hurt my heart. All I can say is, I’m praying for both of them. They’re both in my prayers. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Chris yet. I just wanna sit down and talk to that dude and just explain if he doesn’t understand: ‘That’s not something that’s excusable, bruh. You have to get a little smarter about whatever it is going on in your relationship. You have to get a little smarter about how you handle certain situations.’ ”
Still, Ne-Yo refused to be Brown’s judge and jury. “I’m not going to crucify him,” Ne-Yo said. “I’m not going to do that. That’s still my homeboy at the end of the day. For it to go to that level was wrong. I won’t say who was responsible. I won’t pick no sides. I’m just saying it was wrong [that] it had to happen like that, and I’m praying for the both of them.”
Ne-Yo has had very close ties to Brown and Rihanna. In 2006, Brown and Ne-Yo co-headlined a tour that featured Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana. In 2005, Ne-Yo and Rihanna became two of the main pieces of the Def Jam puzzle when then-president Jay-Z had a hand in signing both acts. Ne-Yo penned his duet with Rihanna “I Hate That I Love You.”

Whether who started the whole ordeal or not, its still wrong. Without the stardom,fame and money; what would you have ladies and gentlemen? Two regular ppl and lets think abt it, you knw or knw of someone who has been in a abusive relationship and of course remains or struggles with that person. at least ne-yo gives a damn. I could care less about this entire situation. I’m sick of hearing about it 3 weeks straight. I don’t condone hitting women…..its just not fair. I agree that there are two sides to a story and only three people really know what happened, Rihanna, Chris and God (which ever one you may believe in) but PLEASE stop making excuses for him. Things may have gotten out of hand and MAYBE she pushed a few buttons but there is no reason why a human being should put their hands on another unless you’re protecting yourself. If she followed him or whatever who cares! I always say in this situation if it was YOUR mother or YOUR sister or family member would you say it was their fault. I don’t think you would.

like i have said before its to victims in this situation, ive never seen a woman so like heal so fast in my life who has supposely was beaten badly. i think the media makes more out of situation than they really are, make up cant hide everything so argue with my point if u please. i thik both were abusive but because he is a man he of course gets all the mud thrown at him as if a woman no matter her size can fearless with agression or no that he wont hit her so they jump on their men. another position is that u people think because they are famous that their lives are perfect, NOT.. they are humans that live everydays with an acception of a few more bucks. its three sides to a story, his, hers and then the damn TRUTH. people live ur own life stop living through the starz they faults too..

Ne-Yo offered a very “neutral” perspective on things which can (oftentimes) be difficult. I agree with ChristianVerve in saying that there has to be ANOTHER side of this story that has not been revealed. I believe when we get all the pieces of the puzzle we can better understand the situation because this behavior does not seem characteristic of Chris adn they “appeared” to be a happy couple. However, we all know things are not always as they seem!!! Nonetheless, I wish these two the best (they sure are going to need it).

I would have agree with Ne-Yo, there is no reason to ever put your hands on a woman, and he is right not to judge but just simply be a friend to both of those guys. They also will be in my prayers.

It was only a few weeks before this incident that I heard on a celeb gossip radio program that Rihanna was having Chris Brown followed by a private detective. C’mon ladies… you know when it gets to that level of jealousy and suspicion that the woman needs to break up with her man. I believe there’s another side to this story, and until it’s exposed Chris Brown is being vilified.
