I do understand the pain this young man is going through because I went through this with own my son. I think men sometimes shy away from their sons because they don’t want them to end up in the same situation they are in, if it is not a good one. When I ended the abusive marriage I had with my son’s father he refused to take time out with him he even quit his job so that he wouldn’t have to pay child support. But at the same time he entered into a relationship with another women who had a son and he sort of helped her raise him. This was very hurtful to my son and he did not deserve this so we moved to another state. When my son turned 25 he confronted his father all he could say was your mother left me I did not leave you, it was your mother’s fault. Sometime kids end up paying for things that are beyond their control. I know my son feels better about the situation now that he realize things would have been worse if he had a relationship this looser I just didn’t have the heart to tell him I wanted him to find out for himself and he did. So to Quincy hang in there when it is time you will have a meaningful conversation with Al. In the meantime show your beautiful mother and Diddy some love and be thankful that you have them in your life. Put it in God’s hands, believe me it works!!

Puffy took care of his own children, but tries to buy others out, now sadly 16 is a rather influential time in a teenagers life and it can be swayed on tip scale either way, i didnt know Al B had any children, this puffy dude had desroyed more familes then he has accomadated, Ive never liked his sadity ass, and these cake ass hoes dat do like him, only like his money, no dats what you a “Busta”!

This all just makes me upset with Kim Porter… who took this man to court and had him paying the largest amount of child support ever awarded to a woman and yet Diddy takes care of her child as his very own…. scandalous ass hooker

As always there is 2 sides to every story. The one side we have not heard is AL’s. All we can do is speculate that what Quincy is saying is true. However what I don’t like is that he making Sean “Puffy, Puff Daddy, Puff Diddy, P. Diddy, Diddy” Combs perfect. We have seen news clippings of what Sean has done. The womanizing, bouncing between famous women, (not to mention shaving his legs). To me it seems as if Sean is buying Quincy’s affection. What some people don’t understand is that there are alot of mother’s who keep fathers from the kids out of spite or vindictiveness to the father. Then the child grows up thinking the father is the “bad guy”. Regardless of what Quincy’s mother has told him, unless he has talked to his father stop putting Sean on a pedestal because he is human …. and as humans we all disappoint people at some time or another!!!!

Yes he looks just like his dad! So true we all will have to reep what we sow. And for the parents that aren’t active in the kids lives is so sad it’s like this is an epidemic. And these are the adults that grow up disfunctional from their child hood. Maybe one day in this life time we will see absent dads step up… well it doesn’t hurt to put this out into the universe

I understand this letter, but I don’t like that it’s on here. I’ve been there. My mother chose to step out of her situation with my father and try to do different. I have a half brother and we are months apart, so that gives you an idea of what was going on. Fastforward eleven years to when I “first” met him and found out he was a drug abuser. My mother never told me or talked bad about him. The truth came from my cousin. I became depressed because my dad had chosen drugs over me. Then I got angry and I wrote letters. I wrote letters to him and one to my mom, but when my mom sent the letter I had written her to the family, it made things worse. I know she wanted to do what she thought was best, but I had already written what I wanted him to read. That was for her and her only. I said way worse than what Quincy has, but I said it to get it out and move on. I love my dad regardless. I don’t love what he has chosen for himself, but I didn’t have anything to do with that. It wasn’t about embarassing him or shaming him, which is what I feel posting this letter is about. Quincy looks like Al had him all by himself, so I’m sure it’s painful for him to see so much of his father in the mirror, but not standing beside him. Yet, this is only one side. Like a few people said, we don’t know ourselves where Al is. We also don’t know what the circ**stances of visitation or contact are. Hell, I didn’t even know he had kids. Maybe this is what Al needs to hear in order to step up, but when you embarrass someone into reaching out to you, it could make them resent you and make matters worse. You can only do so much, then you just have to move on and enjoy the folks that are there for you…and yes, that’s easier said than done.

I hear, you my ex husband of 14 years wants nothing to do with his little girl never any gifts, visits, money, phone calls nothing at all and she is also a spitting image of her and thats all she has from him. god bless you sweetie although I use to be a big fan of your dad back in the days. Also the article says that Al didn’t attend his sweet 16 bday. I saw it on TV as well- how did we know he wasn’t there. There is a lot of editing on that show- who is to say that Al didn’t do his own thing with his son- the show just displayed what all Diddy did for Quincy for his Bday. Unless you were there and shook everyone’s hand in the place, you have no clue if he was there or not. When you start reading the article it already paints a negative picture of Al, hence all the negative comments against him…

I think alot of black men have that same plight and its getting worse. I grew up without having a real dad that was there and it really troubles a child especially a male. But you have to work through it and swear to yourself to be a better person.

Black men making all these babies and not taking caring of them is a damn shame and its worse now.
