Are There Only Two Black Models In South Africa?

Despite the fact that 80% of the country’s people are black, Complex magazine recently did a gallery of the 9 hottest women in South Africa and only two black girls made the list.
We have to ask why aren’t there more black women on this list?

What we are forgetting though, is that despite the fact there are more “white” girls on the list than “black” girls, they are ALL Africans.
Perhaps Complex wanted to feature more white women because people typically think of Africans as being black and they wanted to show the other side of African beauty that is rarely exposed. Just a thought.
By the way, I don’t think that #4 is the other black girl in question; I think #7 is.

Apparently no one read the caption… Complex asked the same thing, pointing out that only a few of the internationally known women of South Africa where black… That speaks more to Eurocentric nature of Entertainment, Media and Fashion.. I know no one was surprised right… I was more dissapointed with the caption under the Black model, which gave no info on her career but instead said, “#2. JOELLE KAYEMBE
Claim to fame: A Johannesburg native. Although J-Burg’s crime rates are through the roof we’d like to live in her titties…I mean her city. ” That was just sad.

This should not surprise anyone….Everyone should know that is just the opinion of someone else. This real beauties of Africa are just chillin not having to be in front of the camera. To the outside world they are a rare find. But in there country there beauty is the norm

There is nothing sexy about white in South Africa, I all the white people should be shipped out and taken to whatever land they originated from and the Africans the hell alone and put some real village women in their garb as the real models (representatives) of South Africa, I get so sick of white, and Italian people dictating what is beautiful in AFRiCA how the hell would they know, they are EUROPEAN and should stay in that gawd forsaken country
