Plus-Size Women Are Too Whiny!

OMG LoL Reckless you are not one to mince words are you? I am a work of art with thick hips and this article is something else but I ain’t gone trip on it. Thanks for the support but the person who wrote this article got us all messed up. Maybe M’onique was right maybe skinny B******are evil. One thing for sure they sure are vain.

Personally, I say go ahead get bigger! It gives people like me in the health field more business. Its unhealthy to be overweight, no matter what excuse you give yourself to make it ok. Reality is, Your outfit really isnt going to matter.

I think Alyssa was trying to be sarcastic. She’s saying that plus sized women whine because there aren’t enough stores (or places period in society) who cater to plus sized women. The complaining is called for. As soon as marginalized people speak up about whatever injustices they suffer, they are called weak, they are called whiners.
But I think what she is saying is that we won’t be quiet until we get what we want and need.
the attitude seems to be that ppl shouldn’t be big so we wont cater to them, BUT dammit, we’re here and we should have access to the same things everyone else does.

I don’t know why people would feel resentful of a marginalized group wanting to even the playing field. It’s not complaining, it’s being heard and, as the author pointed out, the average American woman’s size in the double-digits (the average is actually a 12, not a 16). This implies that plus-size stores are more than a niche and that there are billions of dollars missed by retailers and designers who do not address the needs of these women.

Moreover, plus-size women shouldn’t feel relagated to a small corner in the store. Do you know how demoralizing it is to go to that corner and find just a few items in your size, most of which are not flattering on you, no less? Fortunately, retail corporations such as Petrie stores understand the pathos of shopping (thanks to R & D); to be able to shop in an environment with others like oneself makes one feel secure, unjudged, and willing to linger in the store–which in turn, can induce the desire to buy more. So why be resentful if it makes someone else happy and it is not encroaching on your rights?

Now, as Rei77 wrote, there are some large women who call thinner women “skinny heifers”, “skinny b***h”, etc. I agree that this is wrong. I realize it is coming from a place of hurt or may make a person feel a bit empowered (by jokingly attacking a group that they feel they are castigated by), but it is rude and disrespectul…reminds me of how blacks call whites “honkie” or “cracker” or how dark skinned blacks call light skinned blacks “yellow”. It’s unnecessary and ineffective.

i’m too a sexy full figured woman it’s not just plus size females who complain it’s all females and males too for that matter u have no idea how many times i get guys hating on me and yes of course they get the ultimate ride out back but to me for a guy to hate on a female of any size is a str8 b***h ass b***h made nigga str8 up so i disagree with the whiny part but i do agree that we should be treated no different than anyone else wereally dont need our own club or fashion show we just want to be equal as everyone else we are women not aliens we have the same body parts as skinny women and can do alot and i mean alot of s**t they can do if not better me personally strive to be known i’m here world and i’m not going anywhere like it or not mz. candy gets what she wants (my nickname) skinny women i luv yall because we are all women this is never anything against u guys let’s just all do us and be the strong powerful women we are duces……

A LOT of women are just “whiny” period (that’s what we do ) and size has NOTHING to do with it (lol). I agree with trisha_369 on the going from store to store and complaining about this, that or the other. I JUST went shopping with a friend last week because she was going out of town. We went from store to store, mall to mall and outlet after outlet and she bought NOTHING! I am a rare species of women because I hate to shop. Yep, I said it. I buy sh!t via catalogue, online or just pick it up off the rack and bounce. I didn’t know the “average” size woman has went up to 16?!? Is that really true or to justify this article??? Last I knew it was a 12-14. If it is fact it is time for us AMERICANS (that means all race and gender) to start taking care of our bodies. It is alright to have curves but being “fat” or too big is not healthy.

You know, I can almost go with this. I’m all for voicing your displeasure when things are unfair to you. But, plus-sized women are starting to turn that into a science. The thing that really gets me about them is that a lot of them feel it’s okay to insult others to make themselves feel better about being plus-sized. If you’re not a size 16, they call you a skinny heifer. If you’re not into big girls, they say you just can’t handle one. Now, personally, I don’t mind a nice, big girl. But, I’d like to remind some of them that it’s not the world’s fault that you’re displeased with yourself. Don’t take it out on us, aight?!
