Italian Vogue Strikes Black Again With Barbie Doll!!
Last July, Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani put out an issue featuring only black models to make a statement about the lack of diversity in the fashion industry. This year, the July magazine isn’t dedicated entirely to black models, but in commemoration of last year’s groundbreaking issue, a special July supplement is dedicated black Barbie dolls. Barbie first came out with a black doll, called “Francie,” in 1967, and in 1980 the first black Barbie doll launched. The new Italian Vogue supplement sounds like a cleverly orchestrated promotion for Barbie’s next line of black dolls, called the “So In Style” dolls. British Vogue reports:
The So In Style dolls … have been designed with more authentic-looking black features, including a new facial sculpt that has fuller lips, a wider nose, more distinctive cheek bones and curlier hair.

Absolutely beautiful Italian Vogue. People tan to be a darker complexion. Black has always been in and never went out of style because we need one another. And I love people like this that respect and recognize our complexion uniqueness. I truly appreciated

Chorus (Akon):
Girl, I can notice
But to notice you
Noticing me
From across the room
I can see it
And can’t stop myself
From looking
And noticing you
Noticing me
Watch out
I’ve seen her type before
That girl is so dangerous
That girl is so dangerous
That girl is a bad girl
I’ve seen her type before
She’s so dangerous
That girl is so dangerous
That girl
Is a bad girl, yeah

The sad thing is that they would never do this in America. America has never got over race and it will contiue to destroy our country. I am so happy that they have a line of barbie dolls for black women. When I was growing up I never had a black barbie doll. ” Go Italian Vogue” ! : )

I was born 1973 in racist a$$ Colorado where I still live. I’m shocked someone none black is showing this type of love!
America thinks they’ve done something cause we have a brotha (very good brotha at that) in the White House… but look how other countries uplift our WOMEN!

It’s amazing how other countries embrace the beauty all the way around. I love it to death. I see why a lot of celebrities, or anybody else able, leave the U.S. and go over seas. They appreciate life as humans and believe it should be shared equally.

Those are too cute…very empowering for a young lady to be able to relate and be inspired to be and do what she wants with her imagination while at play. It bothered me growing up to only be able to play with barbies that where white with unfamilar skin tone or hair as me. I didn’t think the black barbie was as pretty as the white. When the latino barbie came through it was the closest relating barbie. It give a young lady an impression and sometimes taints what she should precieve to be superior. Very nice Vogue!

Italian Vogue ..what can I say? I just might have to subscribe because they are calling for equality in a way that is effective.
