Today I discuss youth in prison and the prison industrial complex with artist activist Damali Abrams, who also happens to be my revolutionary sister. Yeah, if you want to meet Fleece Johnson. MSNBC has this show call Locked Down and they interviewed Mr. Johnson. I think my nephew decided to pull his pants up after he listened to Fleece say that sagging pants was sexy to the “gay” men in prison.
I don’t know why this mess seems to be cool. Chris Rock said that folks get more respect coming out of jail than graduating from college and that is so sad.
It seems like all the rappers are going to jail or prison. I guess it helps their street cred. IGNORANCE, is expensive and we need to WAKE UP. Our kids look up to some of these rappers who pretty much brag about being, going to jail or getting time. That mess ain’t cute and Fleece Johnsonses are in there waiting to take some young, wanna be thug who thinks it is cool to go to prison.

when my dad was a young man in the south, he told of the horrible stories of being on the chain gang while workin in the Florida swamps.
when he got out he did his damndest not to ever go back.
if they took away all the pleasant things from prison and started giving them hard labor and chained constantly to each other and got rid of air conditioning, tv, sports, weight sets, private clothing, social cliques, and total segregation and clamp down on the rights of prisoners to have only shelter, food, health and earn any other perks, that would change the mentality of young dummies thinking they got it easier in their than out here. i used to work in the military brig and it was not a picnic for anybody including the guards, so ….?

My Lord, I was in city jail for 4 nights and 3 days and it was like Guantanimo -flipping-Bay! I have dubbed it the horrible horrible horrible place. I didn’ t even do a full week so for those who are locked down for stretched out amounts of time…May Jesus be with them and keep them covered because….ewwwwww!!!

When I was younger I used to think that going to prison was the thing that hard and tough men did, but now all it seems to me that getting incarcerated is the ultimate in copping out, giving up and having mommy and daddy taking care of you!
A REAL man supports himself, takes responsibility for his actions and lives up to his responsibilities, a man in prison is really a child. No matter how many pushups how much weight he can lift, he is like a boy working out in his parent’s basement.
