I don't find vinegar to work well either and was told peroxide is useful in getting rid of odors by wiping your kitchen and bathroom down, it will get rid of the bacteria that causes odors. But I have only found that to work as far as killing bad breath. The one tried and true thing I know of is ammonia. It cuts grease, dirt and odors without stripping paint like bleach. Also, don't throw meat packages and raw meat/fat in the trash. Stack meat packages and their by-products in the corner of your freezer. When trash day comes, take the whole stack out and send it out with the trash. This takes care of odors, insects larvae, bacteria and pests.

I've tried vinegar and it doesn't work fast and it also leaves an unwanting scent. I'm going to give the lemon a go......

Ive tried the lemon before and it works. Also when you fry chicken and the smell lingers through the house just pour our most of the oil in the pan and leave a little bit left, take 2 scoops of peanut butter and fry it until it turns into liquid. THe smell of the peanuts absords the smell and eliminates it.
