However, despite it’s newsy context, Sherri still became visibly uncomfortable and expressed herself as such.

“When I heard [Whoopi] say it, it was fine, [she] said it a different way. But when I heard you [Barbara] say it, I didn’t like the way you said it because when you say it, you say ‘n-*-*-*-e-r,’ and I don’t like ‘n***er.’ [Whoopi] didn’t say that, she said ‘n***a.’ I don’t know if it’s a semantics thing, but it’s something that goes through my body.”

Barbara: Forgive me if i didn’t say it exactly the same way.
Sherri: Even if you did, you wouldn’t have said it the right way. It’s nothing on you Barbara.
Barbara: So you’re saying because I’m white that I shouldn’t use the word?
Sherri: Yeah, it’s something about hearing you say it.
Barbara: So no white person should use that word?
Sherri: You know, I feel differently from other people. I don’t like it when you use the word. Now, I have used it with my friends, with my family, [but] I don’t say it like you. So when you say it, it’s a different connotation.
Barbara: I’m not sure I understand why.
Sherri: I know, and you probably wouldn’t and I probably could never explain the way I feel.

So, readers, is it okay to repeat the word when quoting someone while reporting the news?

While meant to be promoting her new novel, Star did discuss her exit from “The View,” and even hinted at the possibility of returning to the program… but only as a guest.

Star, who spent nine seasons on “The View” admitted that her last year on the show was torturous, “The first eight years were great, [but the last season was] miserable… It was probably the most emotionally destroying time.” When Joy claims that she left the show “angrily,” Star cuts in, saying she left “dramatically,” and she still maintains that she was fired from the show and that the network leaked information about her to the press.

Star clearly still harbors some resentment to Behar – watch her facial expressions – calling her out for not reaching out when she underwent open-heart surgery last year. “You didn’t call, you didn’t write” Jones said, to which Behar apologized, and claims she “didn’t know.” Sure, she didn’t.

Star claims that “elements” of Joy, and the other hosts, are in the novel, and judging by the way the two interacted throughout the interview, I’m not sure they’re the good elements! I’m definitely going to have to pick up a copy of “Satan’s Sisters” when it comes out.

Now that the gag order has been lifted, Steve is finally able to speak out about the accusations.  During the show, Steve mentioned that he only wanted to clear his name, and not bash his ex-wife in the media because he raises all of his sons to respect their mother and women. Such a gentleman!

Barbara Walters and Elizabeth Hasselbeck read through the details of his recent court battle to ‘The View’s’ audience. The judge ruled that Mary was not left broke or homeless after their divorce, that Steve is the primary guardian of their son, and that their divorce was due to “irreconcilable differences” and that Steve’s current wife, Marjorie, was not the cause of the split.

As you know, Steve Harvey is the author of “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man” and “Straight Talk, No Chaser” which are both books geared toward women on how to get, keep and form lasting relationships with men. Steve, being the ‘relationship guru’ that he is, went on to discuss his definition of a ‘real man’, stating that real men can not live without women. I concur.

“I think you can’t pat down a child the same way you would pat down an adult,” Goldberg said. “I think there has to be some training in there.”

Joy Behar chimed in and suggested they use the x-ray machine, Sherri Shepherd said that her young son has a tendency to touch the sides because he thinks the whole thing is fun.

Barbara Walters suggested that she simply talk to her son, Shepherd said that she does, but he’s a little boy (if you’re a parent, you can sympathize with this).

“Nothing is perfect–” Walters said, on multiple occasions. But like every day on the show, they kept cutting each other off. When Goldberg backed Shepherd by saying, “Take care of business, Sherri,” Walters went in on with…”Let me just finish my sentence, okay?”

After a moment of cold staring, Walters apologized. The tension passed, as happens when both parties have respect for one another, and Walters got to finish her sentence. “This is all done for our safety,” she contributed, and things continued on as normal.

Talk of a unisex spinoff of ‘The View’ may be premature, according to insiders who say there is no such project in the works. A rep for comedian Alec Mapa, who has been floated as a possible co-host of the rumored new show along with former ‘Today’ anchor Bryant Gumbel, tells PopEater the reports about the venture aren’t true.

Reports surfaced this week that ‘View’ executive producers Bill Geddie and Barbara Walters were in discussions about doing a version of the ABC daytime hit that caters to men. The project was reported to be in the development stage.

Recently President Obama came under fire because of comments in regards to Blacks and race. Obama was a guest on “The View” recently and when asked about his background, which includes a Black father and White mother, Obama said of African-Americans: “We are sort of a mongrel people.  I mean we’re all kinds of mixed up,” Obama went on to say “That’s actually true of white people as well, but we just know more about it.”

It did not appear that Obama meant the remarks in a derogatory fashion but rather was making a point about the ethnic diversity of many African Americans.  A mongrel is defined as being of mixed breed, nature or origin.  At the time the audience did not respond to it negatively. It seems like the slightest comment he makes is immediately doomed negative in nature by someone.  With that being said, are people being too hard on Obama?

I would say yes. Overall everything he says is picked apart and dissected to a minute size in the search of finding something vicious or even slanderous in his words. This man obviously has to be very cautious about the words that he speaks in order to make his argument.  On another note, one could argue that Obama should be aware of the scrutiny he is constantly under and use that as the reason to filter his words.

You have to conduct yourself in a certain way even in the most casual situations because you are being watched. On the other hand, are the expectations of Obama unachievable? The general public expects for him to be absolutely perfect and never miss a step. I often joke that Obama is presently getting blamed for everything that is negative in our economy. Including the issues that he has no control over and that were already in play before he took office.

Uh-oh.

Star Jones could be getting her revenge on Barbara Walters by penning a fictional book about female hosts of a daytime talk show.

We’ve learned that Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books will publish Jones’ novel about a TV show, “The Lunch Club,” whose hosts “learn that a former colleague — who departed under mysterious circumstances, and is privy to all their backstage secrets — is coming back with a splash.”

Jones, who has described her co-hosts as “hateful,” left “The View” in 2006 after her contract was not renewed — and it wasn’t pretty.

Walters has said that she objected to Jones’ over-promotion of her wedding on “The View” in an attempt to get things paid for, and also that she and her co-hosts were forced to lie after Jones got gastric bypass surgery but claimed to have lost weight through portion control and pilates.

After Walters’ memoir came out in 2008 with these details, Jones released a statement damning Walters as an “adulterer…in the sunset of her life.”

She now says of her TV career,

“I’ve met some of the most fascinating people, heard the most surprising situations, and been privy to so many great stories and secrets. But while this novel will be dishy, it will be a work of fiction.”

But an insider said,

“There will be tales in the book which will leave readers wondering if they are based on real events and characters. It’s being carefully vetted by lawyers.”

‘The Blind Side’ may have earned several Academy Award nominations and a Best Actress win for Sandra Bullock this past weekend, but Vanessa Williams is clearly no fan of the movie. Williams said on ‘The View’ that the film, which depicts a homeless African-American youngster who is adopted by an affluent white family, does little to improve race relations.

Williams argued that film only reinforces the notion that African-Americans need whites in order to succeed.

Recently slimmed down Sherri Shepherd’s ready to tackle another major goal with a little help from her co-hosts on The View: She’s looking to find lasting love.

The talk show host told PEOPLE at the premiere of her new film “Precious” at the AFI Audi Film Festival that her next challenge may be a quest for a relationship:

“I’d probably like a husband to find me – a man to find me,” she said. “I’m available now!”

When asked if she’s ready for her View co-hosts to weigh in as passionately on her romantic life as they do on Hot Topics, Sherri responded with:

“Sure, yeah!” said Shepherd. “I do trust them. I’m finding that everyone who meets a really good guy was on a blind date. So yeah, I’m ready for the ladies of The View to set me up on a blind date. I even asked Larry King if he knew somebody.”
