Super Bowl Sunday is not the time to think about your diet, this is the one day that we throw caution to the wind. Whether you tune in for the game, the halftime show, or the commercials, you won’t miss one minute of the action if you keep things simple with make-ahead dishes and easy buffets.

Here are some easy recipes to serve your guests:

Hooters’s Buffalo Wings

Prep. Time: 1:45

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. black pepper
20 chicken wing segments
1/2 cup butter OR margarine
1/2 cup hot sauce (see Notes, below)

-In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and peppers.
-Coat chicken entirely in the flour mixture; refrigerate coated wings for 1 hour; coat chicken again with remaining flour mixture.
-In a 2-quart saucepan, heat butter and hot sauce just until butter melts; turn heat to low and keep warm on stove top.
-Deep-fry chicken, 8 – 10 pieces at a time, in 375 degree oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil) for 13 minutes, turning once or twice.
-Drain chicken on a wire cooling rack for 30 seconds, then immediately toss fried chicken in buffalo sauce mixture and remove with a slotted spoon.
-Repeat with remaining chicken.

Adjusting the spiciness of the sauce: As is, the recipe produces a medium sauce. To change the amount of spiciness, simply adjust the butter-to-hot sauce-ratio:
Mild: Use 3/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup hot sauce.
Hot: Use 1/4 cup butter and 3/4 cup hot sauce.

(I use this recipe every Superbowl Sunday and my guests always ask for more.)

I’m hearing that Chris Brown “was all over” Keri Hilson at the Axe Lounge at Liv, where Diddy was hosting a bash and where Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush were celebrating the Saints’ Super Bowl win.

According to E! News the two were “grinding each other” on the dance floor, and Chris even made a special request…

“He insisted on her being in a photo with him as well,” a source tells us.

The two left together, along with a group of friends.

No word from either of their reps, but Keri posted the following on her Twitter page:

“LMAO paps think they slick!! Gone ask CB & I to tk a pic on carpet then asked da crew if we datin!! LHLAB so, no! I’mma let yall know now :P”

* Make food satisfying and yet easy to prepare, serve, and eat. That means lots of finger foods, simple to nibble between rolls of the die, and a hearty main course to provide sustenance as game goes on. With a few pantry staples, party food can be prepared quickly and easily.

* Assemble snacks on a tray for easy shuttling between the kitchen and the game-viewing area and then back again. Appetizers arranged and presented on trays with raised edges minimizes messes.

* Is your party potluck? Ask those guests who like to cook to bring offerings that can be dispensed directly from the serving dish. Have non-cooks bring snacks or drinks.

* Snacks such as celery and carrots can be prepared ahead. Store them submerged in ice water to keep them crunchy; blot with a paper towel before serving.

After the way Justin Timberlake handled the Janet Jackson/Super Bowl debacle, many thought it was lame of him to let Janet take the whole rap for an indecency he was a part of. Many others took that idea even further, claming that Justin got the least backlash because of his skin tone. So when he releases a new video of him pulling black singer Ciara by a leash followed by the same singer popping her booty in his face while he sits back and enjoys, some are wondering, “how in the WORLD does this guy keep getting away with things like this?”

At least one writer from Soul Bounce had this question in mind when they wrote the article, “How Can Justin Timberlake Still Objectify Women And Get Away With It?” Some bits of the column are below.

It been years since “Nipplegate” after which he distanced himself from Janet Jackson, cowardly allowing her to endure the overly harsh criticism alone. The outcry against his actions from those of us in the indignant minority was quickly overshadowed by an increase in album sales, multiple music awards and an increase in his Pop stardom miming Black music and culture. Instead of subjecting his next project with trepidation–let alone dismissal–nearly every “urban” club, radio station and music channel on the planet had the masses bumping to a song with a hook that’s about shackles, whipping and slavery…

…It’s not even his song but in the video he’s in the opening scene, pulling on a chained Ciara. Whenever the two are interacting she is doing all kinds of sexy acrobatics for him–crawling over him, stick out her ass for him to lean on, bumping him with her breasts–but he can barely be bothered to look her in the face half of the time…and he’s on screen a lot. She looks desparate, and he looks like a pimp. As the video progresses and their roles become more evident it gets more disgusting.

Here’s how:

1. Start by applying a creamy foundation (like MAC Select Moistureblend) with a sponge or synthetic brush.
2. Outline the top and bottom lash lines by picking a liquid liner that allows a very thin line, such as Vincent Longo Vibrant Eye in Nerino.
3. Choose shadows in complementary hues, both light and darker. Since I used three shades for my look, the NP Set Eye Palette in Atlanta Plum works wonderfully.
4. Start with the lightest shade and sweep from the base of the eyelid to the browbone. After that, take a darker color and blend in the crease of each eye.
5. Next, use the darkest color to make a horizontal “V” shape on the outer and inner thirds of your eyelid. (Make sure to blend the colors well.)
6. Smudge shadow into the bottom lash line, if desired. Apply your favorite lengthening mascara, like L’Oreal Lash Out.
7. Line lips with a pencil slightly darker than the lipstick you’ll use. For example, the Too Faced Luster Liner in Caspian would work well before before filling in with the glossy LipFusion in Beauty, which offers a touch of color along with re-plumping formula.
8. Finally, a light touch of blush (Black Radiance in Soft Honey) can bring definition to cheekbones.
9. You can’t tell here, but I noticed Jennifer also wore black nail polish as she held onto the microphone last night – I’m digging OPI’s nail lacquer in Black Onyx to finish out this look.

In her first public appearance since the tragic murders of her mother, brother and nephew in October, Oscar winner and “American Idol” vet Jennifer Hudson gave a stunning performance of the national anthem before the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Stepping onto a small blue platform, Hudson took a deep breath and leaned easily into the microphone, letting loose her signature crystalline vocals on the country’s anthem, bringing the song a dreamy quality that rivaled one of the other great renditions of the anthem at the big game: Whitney Houston’s legendary soul shakedown in 1991 during the first Gulf War.

Jennifer Hudson was spotted arriving in Tampa last night.  She’s scheduled to perform the National Anthem at Sunday’s big game.

We can’t wait to hear her sing again.

Jennifer Hudson will make her first public appearance since the tragedy at sports’ grandest event – the Super Bowl.

According to E!Online‘s Marc Malkin, Hudson, will sing the national anthem before the big gridiron game on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla.  Jennifer is also scheduled to sing at the Grammys’ MusiCares event in Los Angeles a few days later. She is nominated for four awards at the Feb. 8 Grammy Awards.
