Beyonce’s little sister has proven herself to be more then just that. Solange is a full-on force by herself. The “T.O.N.Y.” songstress has more going on in her multitasking life than you may be aware of. I have to be quite honest, I live vicariously through her. Whether you love her, or hate her, you’re paying attention. And here’s six reasons why.

You can’t be a DJ if you don’t know a thing or two about music. Solange is taking her music career to the next level with her crate-digging skills. She rocks parties from London to NYC for the fashion and entertainment elite to regular ol’ folks that love to boogie–precisely the range of crowds she fits with.

If you follow Solange’s blog or even her Twitter the way that I do, you’ll know that this woman is well-traveled. Constantly jet-setting around the world and gathering up inspirational culture from far and wide is a fantasy to most of us. Her cultural prowess is apparent in her personal style and philosophies.

Last night while driving in Miami Solange had a run in with the Miami Beach police who pulled her over and pulled a gun out on her. Solange says she didn’t do anything wrong but we are unsure of what exactly happened. Solange reported on her Twitter page:

“I have literally had my last leg with discriminating police! Miami police department will be notified. A police officer just pulled a weapon on me…. I have done NOTHING illegal, against the law, or anything of the sort. I am simply tired of police using arrogance, ego and authority as an offense.

I’m only tweeting this to raise awareness. I could have left quietly, but I am sick & tired of this scenario being played over & over again. I’m ok. I’m safe & sound at my apartment. I’m just beyond frustrated with the system. It is time to do something about it. I am a mother raising a young black child in America. I’m going to die trying!

Been on the phone for the last 20 minutes reporting this incident. Yes, I have the officers name. Yes, I have the location. Scare tactics don’t WORK.”

Singer/DJ Solange Knowles has teamed up with Coca-Cola to front a new campaign for clean water access in Africa.Knowles says, “Water is a necessity, it’s not a privilege. The ‘Music for Rain’ project gives everyone a chance to contribute and play a part in improving the situation.”

“Kenya” is a track created by Chris Taylor (CANT) Solange Knowles and Twin Shadow to raise money and awareness around the issue of access to water and sanitation as part of The Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN) founded by The Coca Cola Africa Foundation. RAIN brings together business, local government, NGO”s and committed individuals to tackle the problem of access to water and sanitation in Africa. All proceeds from ‘Kenya”, will be used to provide clean water and sanitation resources to Africa’s most needy. Whether that’s providing loos in Rwanda, rain harvesting roofs in Uganda or carrying containers in the Cameroon.

Solange Gets Into A Bus Accident, Twitters It

Remember when Solange passed out in the airport from drinking too much cough syrup? Well, she got into another frightful accident and, of course, Twittered the whole thing like she did during her NyQuil episode. Reports say,

Solange Knowles cheated death as she returned from a show in Texas – when her tourbus careered into a herd of deer. The singer was relaxing in her bed on the coach as she headed to Houston after a gig in Austin on Tuesday night when the terrifying accident happened.

The impact threw a member of her backing band to the floor, injuring his hand – but miraculously Knowles and the rest of her road crew escaped unharmed.
And the younger sister of R&B star Beyonce
admits she briefly thought she would die as the bus driver struggled to control the swerving vehicle.

Writing on social networking website Twitter.com, Knowles says, “I’m on the phone baking like betty in my bus bunk and CRASH! Thought I was dead, but turns out we ran into a family of dear…I can’t believe it. Were all ok tho! Guitar player flew out of bunk n hurt his hand a little…But I’m saying a huge prayer of thanks right now. God is good ALL the time!”

Glad to hear she’s doing fine!

Solange Overdoses On Nyquil

R&B star Solange Knowles was admitted to hospital when she collapsed after downing flu pills on a flight out of New York on Tuesday night. Beyonce’s younger sister was treated by medics after taking the capsules onboard a plane and suffering an adverse reaction to the medication.

According to newsone.com, her muddled mental state was laid bare in a series of bizarre postings on social networking website Twitter.com which she uploaded during the journey. But three hours into the trip, her messages suddenly stopped after she complained of feeling sleepy – and three hours later she logged back on to the website to tell fans: “Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital?”

In a series of Twitter postings during the flight, she told fans how she had swallowed NyQuil tablets to treat a cold. She wrote: “I took a nyquil and i think maybe im getting high off it because im not sleeping. maybe i should close my eyes…”

“think im certified loosing (sic) it on nyquil. going to sleep before i start freestyling on the plane… omg (Oh my God) i didnt know nyquil could do this to you. i took the pills tho. cant stomach cough syrup. trying to be proactive on this flight.”

“Never taking nyquil again. I feel so weird.”
The singer left further apparently random messages about various musicians and having “freezing” feet, before a break of three hours.

She then logged on again and wrote: “Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital? Woke up to 8 random people over me, laid out on the floor in baggage claim!… Guess I passed out! Scary. Hooked up to IV now . Apparantly I’m super dehydrated.

“I’ve never passed out before. S**t was like the movies. People standing over me saying ‘hello’… My mom is the best. LOL (laugh out loud). She’s like ‘Ain’t nothing wrong with this girl, she need some water and rest… Pull up the car!’ LOL

“I’m like still in shock. I’ve never passed out before. Think it was the nyquil too. I felt weird when I woke up. This has been the day from hell. I’m done with the second IV. I just want to get in the bed and lay with (son) Julez. That’s all I want. The singer later confirmed she had been released following treatment, writing: “I’m out! yay!… they let me go….. Rest. Water. Rest. Water.”
