His first sketch was “ESPN Classic: Ladies Shot Put” where he played a female shot putter named, “Carmela St Knix” during a 1985 competition that was sponsored by KY Jelly.

He then played himself in the sketch, “Laser Cats” where other SNL cast members create action movies with cats and lasers.

Carmelo’s last appearance was when he closed the show introducing Elton John’s performance of “Monkey Suit”

Who knew Carmelo had a silly side?

Proud wifey, LaLa, tweeted about her husband’s performance Saturday night, stating:

Chris Brown will appear for his first time on the show on the February 12 episode, hosted by Russell Brand – interestingly enough, Brand is the husband of Rihanna’s best friend, Katy Perry. We wonder if the two men will have words.

“SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson has been looking forward to this moment for some time now. Back in 2009, following the domestic violence incident, he said, “It’s not up to me, but I’m sure we would [book him] if he had another hit single. We don’t care about scandal. We just care about what brings us ratings!”

Chris Brown will likely perform “No Bullsh*t” and “Yeah 3X,” since the two tracks have made the top 5 on the Billboard Urban Mainstream Chart, and Mainstream Top 40 Chart, respectively.

Rihanna has appeared at the Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, and American Music Awards, but she finds herself in new company. An “SNL” skit in which she starred has been nominated for an Emmy.

The “Shy Ronnie” digital short, in which she plays herself alongside comedian Andy Samberg, received a nod for “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards. Only the song’s writers and producers receive the nomination. The winner will be announced August 29.

Rihanna Keeps Cancelling! Two More Shows Axed!

Betty White shouts out her Marcy Projects homie Jay-Z (or Jays as she calls him) in the new hilarious promo clips for “Saturday Night Live.” The 88-year-old actress will host and Jay-Z will perform for the third time on this weekend’s show, as we reported last month here.

And if we’re lucky, we may even see the two appear together in a sketch.

Before hinting to that collabo though, executive producer Lorne Michaels told Entertainment Weekly about booking the odd couple,

“We thought, ‘This is an interesting mix.’ Jay-Z was excited about the idea of working with Betty White—further proof that her influence is pervasive and enormous.”

As it turns out, White is also a fan of the Brooklyn MC,

“I’m thrilled to meet him. I was thrilled to hear that he’s going to be on the show because he’s the hottest thing since sliced bread. I will certainly enjoy him. I hope that we get along well.”

The excited, bubbly host used her monologue for an upbeat, adorable dance number in which several SNL cast members try to make sure she’s OK.

She sings, shakes it, and more than anything, proves she’s still got acting chops.

Gabourey Sidibe is doing just fine, thank you very much!

Despite the shock jock’s controversial remarks that the Precious Oscar nominee will have trouble getting more work in Hollywood because of her size (Howard Stern Goes In On Oprah & Gabourey Sidibe), a source has exclusively revealed that Ms. Sidibe is going to be hosting an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live! “It literally just happened,” the source said of the deal.

No word on an exact date yet, but Jennifer Lopez hosts this Saturday.

SNL is not—we repeat, not—the only gig Sidibe has scored since her feature film debut. She has a recurring role on Showtime’s upcoming The Big C, about a teacher (Laura Linney) living with cancer. Sidibe plays one of her sassy students. The series is set to premiere in August.

On “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend, Rihanna not only performed her two released singles “Russian Roulette” and “Hard,” but showed us her acting chops and, possibly, her natural comedic talent in a skit with cast member Andy Samberg. Samberg plays “Shy Ronnie,” a seemingly shy teacher, but a boisterous rapper at heart. Too bad his true colors only come out when Rihanna isn’t around. Some people are saying this was actually one of the best parts of the episode. What do you think?

Blake Lively from “Gossip Girl,” a sitcom on the CW, and “Saturday Night Live” regular Kenan Thompson performed a skit this past weekend, which mocked famous golfer Tiger Woods and his current infidelity and crash situation that has made headlines for the past week.

But did the show go too far? Should domestic violence be made fun of? If this skit portrayed Chris Brown and a battered Rihanna, we have a feeling the audience wouldn’t be laughing so hard.

Comedienne Maya Rudolph has a bun in the oven – her second! The former Saturday Night Live star and current star of the upcoming movie Away We Go just leaked the news to People recently:

The Saturday Night Live star, 36, is expecting her second child with her partner, director Paul Thomas Anderson, she reveals in an interview slated to air Monday on ET Canada.

“I wasn’t planning on sharing it, but yes I am pregnant!” she tells the show. In a nod to the irony of playing pregnant, followed by actually being pregnant, she says, “I know it’s really weird timing.”

*Maya Rudolph’s return guest spot and Kenan Thompson’s role in a digital short were the lone African American appearances on “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend – other than musical guest Kanye West.

New York’s African American governor David Patterson was played by Fred Armisen, a cast member of Venezuelan, German and Japanese heritage who also plays President-elect Barack Obama.

Of the 90 or so actors to grace the “SNL” stage since its 1975 premiere, only eight have been African-American. And that’s an issue for “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd.

In an AOL interview, she points out that there aren’t even enough African-Americans for a proper skit of her ABC daytime show. While Thompson portrays co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Shepherd’s character is simply left out of the sketch.

“Couldn’t they have gotten Maya Rudolph to play me?” Shepherd asked. “She is so awesome! They need more black people in their cast!”
