However, despite it’s newsy context, Sherri still became visibly uncomfortable and expressed herself as such.

“When I heard [Whoopi] say it, it was fine, [she] said it a different way. But when I heard you [Barbara] say it, I didn’t like the way you said it because when you say it, you say ‘n-*-*-*-e-r,’ and I don’t like ‘n***er.’ [Whoopi] didn’t say that, she said ‘n***a.’ I don’t know if it’s a semantics thing, but it’s something that goes through my body.”

Barbara: Forgive me if i didn’t say it exactly the same way.
Sherri: Even if you did, you wouldn’t have said it the right way. It’s nothing on you Barbara.
Barbara: So you’re saying because I’m white that I shouldn’t use the word?
Sherri: Yeah, it’s something about hearing you say it.
Barbara: So no white person should use that word?
Sherri: You know, I feel differently from other people. I don’t like it when you use the word. Now, I have used it with my friends, with my family, [but] I don’t say it like you. So when you say it, it’s a different connotation.
Barbara: I’m not sure I understand why.
Sherri: I know, and you probably wouldn’t and I probably could never explain the way I feel.

So, readers, is it okay to repeat the word when quoting someone while reporting the news?

On the advice of her bridesmaid Niecy Nash, Shepherd wore no underwear to her wedding, which became problematic when the microphone pack for her upcoming TV special on the Style Network fell down her back. As her friends started to lift her dress to help her, a panicked Shepherd screeched, “‘No, I have no panties on!’ … And one bridesmaid thought I kept screaming, ‘My pancreas! My pancreas!.’”

Shepherd’s co-host and bridesmaid Elisabeth Hasselbeck saved the day. “Like a person drowning who won’t let you help them,” she said of trying to calm the bride, “I was ready to slap you.”

But Shepherd said her favorite moment was with her son Jeffrey. “That was the best time, dancing with my son,” she said. “He walked me down the aisle. He wasn’t nervous.”

Sherri’s wedding was filmed for a Style Network special and is scheduled to air September 13.

Sherri’s dad is totally against the marriage as is Sherri’s new mother-in-law. Sherri’s dad is worried because his daughter is the breadwinner in the family and he’s not thrilled that Sherri is going to make her new husband her manager. (Note to Sherri: You may want to talk to Mariah about this one! flasback to Tommy Mottola!)

As for the mother-in-law, it’s the usual, “she’s not good enough for my son” plus she thinks Sherri talks too much. And to make matters worse, the mother-in-law makes no secret of the fact that she likes one of Lamar’s ex-girlfriends better than Sherri.

What a nice way to start a life together! I hope these two work it out, Sherri deserves some happiness.

“Second chances really do happen, and I got mine! I’m married now!”

The bride wore a custom Rivini gown, and her bridesmaids, which included Niecy Nash, Kim Whitley and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, wore custom gowns made by Carmen Marc Valvo.

The wedding will be shown on The Style Network in a special titled “Wedding Fabulous: Sherri Shepherd Gets Married,” on Tuesday, September 13.

Upon arriving back from a trip to San Diego, Sherri was surprised to find their accommodations had been decorated with lights by one of Sal’s best friends, her dog was wearing a Santa beard and hat, and in the middle of a dish of Sherri’s favorite, but forbidden M+M’s (she is diabetic), was a tiny little box.

The couple is planning an August wedding in Chicago.

‘View’ co-host Sherri Shepherd’s divorce got real interesting, when she had to admit on the stand that she found pictures of her husband having sex with someone else while her newborn was in ICU

Shepherd had a preemie that weighed 1 pound, 10 ounces. While the baby was in neonatal intensive care for several months, Sherri went back and forth from the hospital to her home quite often. When she returned home one day, she discovered pictures of her husband, Jeff Tarpley, having sex with a woman, who he later got pregnant.

Damn, this dude is a DOG!!!

Soon after finding the photos, Shepherd filed for divorce in 2006.

Despite Tarpley’s infidelity, she made a point to note that her soon-to-be ex is a good dad.

“The View’s” Sherri Shepherd’s ex husband Jeff Tarpley is asking her to stop talking about him and their divorce. He wrote an open letter to Sherri telling her to stop talking about the fact that he cheated on her and fathered a child with another woman. He wants her to stop for the sake of their son, Jeffrey:

“Having a relationship and children with a person in the limelight – someone who gets to express her thoughts, beliefs, opinions and grievances to the world on a daily basis – is not an easy proposition.

Sherri Shepherd, to whom I was married for 8 years and have an amazing son with, has openly discussed and distorted details of our marriage for close to six years following our break-up. To this very day, my name is consistently dragged through the mud at her every opportunity. Sherri, don’t you think it’s time to move on?

“I’ve held my head high and kept silent as she continues to give interview after interview re-living the hardship she endured during the end of our marriage, while consistently airing our dirty laundry on The View. Though I believe the high road is typically the best course of action, it’s time that I take the opportunity to say, ‘Enough is enough!’

“Mistakes have been made, but they have not been one-sided, as the public is consistently led to believe. Though Sherri claims to be transparent, what good is transparency when you’re not taking ownership of your own faults? And while some might find her comments entertaining, to me and my loved ones they’re hurtful, misguided and spiteful. No matter how much she says she’s reached a place of forgiveness, her comments and actions clearly do not demonstrate this.

“Sherri knows that I value my privacy, which is violated every time she discusses our relationship, and my alleged faults and shortcomings. There’s not a day that goes by when I do not get calls or emails from friends letting me know they’ve either seen her on TV or in the media saying disparaging things about me. I can’t visit family without her most recent comments about me becoming the focus of discussion. Every aspect of my life is affected by her spiteful accusations; everywhere I go, people formulate incorrect opinions about me once they find out I’m the guy Sherri Shepherd always bashes. I’m not sure if this is her intention, but as we approach six years of this, isn’t it time to move on? Her misrepresentation of me and twisted facts surrounding our break-up are affecting my life and hurting my career.

“What’s shocking is that despite her steady stream of negative comments about me, and inaccurate portrayal of me on her Lifetime sitcom, I still receive gifts from her. Most recently, she sent me a Kevin Garnett Celtics jersey. Are these gifts a way of making her public accusations about me okay? It’s not that simple. My happiness and peace of mind cannot be bought. The only gift I want is for Sherri to move on with her life and stop using her talk show, her sitcom and national magazines to destroy my reputation.

“Though I’ve withheld my feelings for over five years in hopes that her animosity directed at me publicly would eventually subside, it continues to rage on. Sherri Shepherd has used every opportunity at her disposal to rehash my mistakes, comparing me to John Gosselin, Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, David Letterman, Eliot Spitzer and, most recently, John Edwards on a recent taping of The View. I know she’s fully aware that we have both done things that contributed to the demise of our marriage, which is why I can’t understand why she’s crucifying me over five years after our break-up.

“Sherri’s career has sky-rocketed, and regardless of how she’s unfairly treated me publicly, I truly wish her the best. She is, after all, the mother of my son. I’ve owned up to the mistakes I’ve made and I never claimed to be perfect. All I ask is that that she no longer dwell on the past; and instead, let’s move on with our lives while providing our son the best possible care. Can you imagine if I were the one with a hit daytime talk show and trashed her at every available opportunity; or created a character in a sitcom for the sole purpose of attacking her reputation? I know Sherri, and she would have spoken out well before year five; probably before hour five.

“The issues in our marriage that Sherri continually refers to happened around the time that Jeffrey was born. One thing Sherri never can deny nor has denied is the deep love and close bond I have with our son. Jeffrey will soon be socializing and interacting with other children, and eventually he will be able to search the Internet, where he’ll find article after article and countless video clips of his mom exacting a public revenge against his dad. Jeffrey does not deserve to grow up knowing that his mom used her notoriety to paint an inaccurate picture of his dad for the world to see. If not for me, it’s time to move on for the sake of our son.”

Recently slimmed down Sherri Shepherd’s ready to tackle another major goal with a little help from her co-hosts on The View: She’s looking to find lasting love.

The talk show host told PEOPLE at the premiere of her new film “Precious” at the AFI Audi Film Festival that her next challenge may be a quest for a relationship:

“I’d probably like a husband to find me – a man to find me,” she said. “I’m available now!”

When asked if she’s ready for her View co-hosts to weigh in as passionately on her romantic life as they do on Hot Topics, Sherri responded with:

“Sure, yeah!” said Shepherd. “I do trust them. I’m finding that everyone who meets a really good guy was on a blind date. So yeah, I’m ready for the ladies of The View to set me up on a blind date. I even asked Larry King if he knew somebody.”

Jennifer Hudson talks body after having baby!

Sherri Shepherd is best known for her spot on the hit daytime talk show, “The View.” However, she has recently ventured out on her own via a new Lifetime sitcom entitled “Sherri.” The show is about a single mother, Sherri Robinson, dealing with a recent messy divorce.  In the pilot episode, Sherri learns that not only did her husband cheat, resulting in their divorce, but his 20 year old white mistress was now claiming to be 6 months pregnant.  The character struggles to deal with the news, but finds some solace in the support of her friends.  She also learns that her son’s pediatrician is smitten with her, and accordingly her declining love life begins to look up.

The show tackles real life, serious issues like infidelity, marriage and love, but manages to do so in a surprisingly comedic way. Sherri is lovable, and more important relatable. The enormity of the situation the character is placed in does not weigh too heavily on the viewer, even when Sherri and the young mistress find themselves locked in a car together with nothing to discuss but the truth.  Overall the show delivers many huge laughs and a story line that seems to be unraveling to reveal a hot ghetto  mess.  Already we have Sherri, the black woman scorned, a cheating husband and a white mistress. Cliche? Perhaps. Good TV? Definitely!

For some light entertainment and a few good laughs, we recommend Sherri. Those of you seeking complexity need not apply.

In what seems to be a bit of a slow news day, “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd had a little beef sandwich with Entourage‘s Jeremy Piven.

Monday “The View” returned live after two weeks for the holidays. Over the break, co-host Sherri Shepherd recounted, she flew home to Los Angeles with son Jeffrey, 3 1/2, on the same plane as a mercury-poisoned Jeremy Piven. Shepherd first recognized Piven when she boarded as the “a guy with the fedora, a little short guy.”

She then imitated her son’s vocal excitement at being on a plane.

“I don’t know if that irritated look that he had was the mercury running through his veins or my son… He was just on the show, normally I would go ‘hey, I’m Sherri Shepherd from The View!’ But had this look on his face!”

“We just avoided each other.”

*Maya Rudolph’s return guest spot and Kenan Thompson’s role in a digital short were the lone African American appearances on “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend – other than musical guest Kanye West.

New York’s African American governor David Patterson was played by Fred Armisen, a cast member of Venezuelan, German and Japanese heritage who also plays President-elect Barack Obama.

Of the 90 or so actors to grace the “SNL” stage since its 1975 premiere, only eight have been African-American. And that’s an issue for “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd.

In an AOL interview, she points out that there aren’t even enough African-Americans for a proper skit of her ABC daytime show. While Thompson portrays co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Shepherd’s character is simply left out of the sketch.

“Couldn’t they have gotten Maya Rudolph to play me?” Shepherd asked. “She is so awesome! They need more black people in their cast!”
