BUT, when we, here at the HB offices, heard about Pharrell’s Qream liqueur launch party last month (to which we weren’t invited, but all is forgiven, and you’ll see why!), our interest peaked.

After all, we’d heard good things. Really good things. First, that it was catered to women which, let’s be honest, is what HB is all about. Second, it was low in calories, lower than those found in a glass of red wine. Wine, people! That’s everyone’s guiltless go-to drink! Third (and this is more personal), it was dairy-free; a plus for me since I’m lactose-intolerant. And finally, not only was it dessert-inspired, but it could literally be baked, poured and cooked into sweets. Into them. Cupcakes, cream puffs, parfaits…

So, after we picked our salivating mouths up from off the floor, we got ourselves a bottle. And though the vodka can in fact be mixed into a cocktail, we opted for having it on the rocks: just Qream, ice and some styrofoam cups (don’t judge). The reactions were unanimous.

It was light. Silky, even. A not-too-thick type of consistency. It didn’t coat our tongues and overwhelm our taste buds. The Peach flavor was so subtly sweet, we likened it to a Creamsicle. Even a hesitant male co-worker begrudgingly admitted through his teeth, “Not bad.” We immediately started looking up pastry recipes and picturing all the scenarios a sip would be perfect in – hello, girls’ night in! And soon after the last pour, we wanted to get the Strawberry-flavored version.

If you need further convincing, the 750ml bottle is less than $30. So both your body and your wallet won’t feel guilty afterward. Go!

Though Pharrell isn’t a drinker himself, he explained his inspiration.

“I think there’s such a stigma in the world about indulgence, making people feel guilty. Those things release endorphins. That means it brings joy to people.”

With less calories than a glass of wine(!) and a thinner consistency than other cream liqueurs, we must say Pharrell’s got a winner on his hands! This drink won’t make you feel guilty in the morning.

She said in a statement, “Anyone can be affected by leukemia. It is the number one disease children in the U.S. die of and we can change that. I encourage people to become bone marrow donors with DKMS. If we have more donors, we can save more lives.”

Early last year, Rihanna publicly urged all her fans to register with the DKMS bone marrow donor center so that young Broadway performer Shannon Tavarez, who played Nala in ‘The Lion King,’ could live after being diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. The singer unfortunately passed in November 2010.

Pharrell emceed the black-tie event, Solange provided her DJing skills, and supermodel Iman was also in attendance. All proceeds raised will go directly to registering life-saving bone marrow donors.

In 2008, Pharrell revealed that he’d be trying a revolutionary new tattoo removal procedure that involves applying new skin over old body art.

He explained,

“It’s basically like getting a skin graft, but you’re not taking skin from your a** or your legs. These guys actually grow the skin for you. First you have to give them a sample of your skin, which they then replicate. Once that’s been done, they sew it on – and it’s seamless.”

As for the cost… That’s irrelevant, he adds.

“It’s going to be pricey, but worth it. I got fire on my arms! I’m a grown man!”

At a certain point in 2003, almost half of the songs (43%) being played on American radio was produced by the Neptunes. Of this, the decade of the super-producer, Pharrell is the one doing it with the most style, musically and sartorially. Kanye is a fashion frenetic, but Pharrell has a sensibility that is all his own—even if we have to overlook the occasional pair of knee-length man boots. And how he finds time to design jewelry and a clothing line with all those hits to make, that’s beyond us.

BRIAN GRAZER: So, you try to free yourself up of things that can diffuse your vision?
PHARRELL WILLIAMS: Yeah, because I could be missing something. I’ve found at times that I turn things that bother me into songs, which is super-therapeutic. You know, Einstein said something to the effect that energy can’t be created or destroyed, only conjured. Those weren’t his exact words, but if we have this energy within us that makes us mobile and makes us aware of things, imagine all the things that we can do if we can just harness it. I hope that doesn’t sound too bizarre or too crazy.
GRAZER: Don’t go Yoda on me.
WILLIAMS: [laughs] Yeah, I don’t want to go that way. But there is a lot of energy out there, and it’s up to each of us to use it. Music just happens to be my channel.

Even though American women love Pharrell and think he’s one of the hottest and most talented artists in the industry, some Parisian chicks apparently don’t feel the same way. Check out this video of Pharrell stopping in a McDonald’s in Paris, then putting on an impromptu song and dance when they won’t serve him after closing time. I think it just makes him even more adorable, but the cashiers in this video are NOT amused. Video below.
