Rumors about Sean “Diddy” Combs being romantically linked to singer Cassie Ventura circulated for years. Neither Cassie nor Diddy have confirmed or denied directly, but the two have been photographed extensively together and hints on Twitter leave most of us convinced the two are dating. Tabloids began reporting the couple’s engagement in 2008, but Combs’ reps quickly squashed the story, saying it was a complete fabrication. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned!

Christina Milian and The-Dream wed in Vegas in September 2009. Christina gave birth to their daughter, Violet, in March 2010 as rumors of their failing relationship began to circulate. According to statements by the couple, they had already decided to call it quits as of late 2009, but did not share those plans publicly in an effort to protect their daughter. Photos of The-Dream canoodling in the Caribbean with his assistant, Melissa Santiago, surfaced and the fact that he wasn’t wearing his wedding band at the time confirmed the splitsville rumors were true.

The couple was surrounded by scandal at the end of their relationship when a sex tape portraying Kelis with another man was sent in to the Wendy Williams Show. Adding fuel to the tabloid fire, Kelis gave birth to a baby boy on July 21, 2009 while her estranged hubby was out partying in the Queensbridge Projects. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but they do make it dunzo.

The domestic abuse scandal between Rihanna and Chris Brown began on Grammy night 2009 and the exes still manage to make headlines. R&B royalty in their own right, the couple stepped out together in 2007 but remained coy about the status of their relationship. Sources told gossip mags the couple had hit a “bumpy patch” in February 2009 but no one could have anticipated how far it would go. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault charges and cannot come within 50 yards of RiRi.

Ashanti is going on record to squash the rumors that she dated rapper Nelly.

Nelly set the internet ablaze recently when media outlets reported that he denied ever dating Murder Inc.’s former first lady. Speaking with BET.com shortly after her performance for “106 & Park’s” 10th anniversary, the R&B singer responded to rumors that Pimp Juice denied their relationship.

“So one of the rumors that I would like to clear up, the whole Nelly-Ashanti, and Nelly’s denying and Nelly’s not claiming; let’s clear that up right now,” she told BET.com. “Me and Nelly are good friends. I never said I was his girl, I never quote, unquote, “claimed him,” I never said we were an item and neither has he, so there you have it. We’re good friends. The whole, ‘oh he’s denying and she’s denying,’ no claiming. Come on, son!”

Nelly recently called into a Chicago radio station, and denied ever having an official relationship with singer Ashanti.

When asked if he had broken it off with Ashanti and whetther or not they were officially dating, he said the following:

“Who said that? Well what have we always said? Of course I’m single. I’m not married, she’s not married.”

“Here’s the thing. I’ve never said I’m in a relationship, she’s never said she’s in a relationship. I don’t know where they do that at. But we’ve always admitted to being friends.”

OUCH!!!!

He did have something positive to say about Ashanti:

“We hang out. She’s a very sweet girl. Very pretty girl. Very talented. She does her thing as far as her career and I do my thing as far as mine.”

Nelly also tackled the “why are so many smart and beautiful black women are single” question pretty gracefully.

“We interpret relationships wrong a little bit. Instead of ‘Do we look right in society’s eyes?’, it should be ‘Does he look right in MY eyes? Does he take care of me..make me feel special?’ He may not be 6′2 broad shoulders and all that…but I’ve seen girls turn down a great guy because he doesn’t look the part.”

“Then you got the guys who look the part, but don’t act the part. It’s just about coming up with that balance. Society has also put us in a rut–either brothers are in jail…or don’t like girls no more. To each his own.”

Nelly Not Trying to Repeat History with New Kelly Rowland Duet

FROM RAP-UP: Nelly and Kelly Rowland topped the charts in 2002 with their duet “Dilemma,” but Nelly is not looking to repeat history with their latest collaboration.

Of their Grammy-winning hit, which was named one of Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs of the Decade, he says:

“Let’s be honest, we can’t do ‘Dilemma’ over again. That’s etched in time. It is what it is; that song was for that point in time.”

The song’s sequel “Gone” was helmed by Jim Jonsin and Rico Love and is set to appear on Nelly’s new album Nelly 5.0. It picks up where its predecessor left off.

“It’s kinda like an extension of the story, and still playfully having fun with it like we did with the first one. [But] in no way, shape, or form are we trying to repeat a ‘Dilemma’—like you gotta be f*****’ kidding me.”

In the meantime, Nelly can be heard on the slowed down, urban remix to Kelly’s new single “Commander” – which we actually like a lot better than the original. HEAR IT BELOW:

Nelly is getting ready to cross over into the world of daytime television. The rapper recently announced that he is developing a talk show with a few of his hip-hop and R&B cohorts.

Here’s what we found out from freddyo.com:

Nelly explains, quote, “It’s me, Jermaine Dupri, Trey Songz, Johnta Auston, Brian Michael Cox and Tyrone ‘International’ Davis(JD’s Right Hand Man). We’re working on kind of like the male version of ‘The View.’” Nelly says he has always wanted to branch out, but turned down a lot of previous offers because, quote, “I felt I wasn’t ready yet.” He adds, quote, “I never want to disrespect the culture and the thing that is acting, thinking just because I’m Nelly I’m going to transition and be good at it.”

Nelly is also currently working on his untitled, sixth studio album. The record is expected in stores later this year.

According to the gossip site, the two attended the New York International Auto Show in Detroit last night. And according to two INDEPENDENT snitches, they looked very couple’d up.

Nelly Launches “Booty” Fragrance

Nelly, who it seems is taking a break from music world is launching his own new fragrance, and body care line, Apple Bottom. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Nelly has teamed up with Romane Fragrances to release the scent which will come under the Apple Bottom brand.

Is Nelly and Ashanti getting married?

Nelly has also launched a line of body care products based on the same brand which include eyewear, women’s denim, jewelry and handbags.

The Apple Bottom brand is expected to be distributed nationally by this fall.
