I think he really didn’t realize how the song would affect Destiny. He should have allowed her to hear if first.

His short coming was humiliating her in public by rehashing the mistakes she has made via a song. Not right.

I didn’t hear anything positive in that song.

That song was created b/c he felt like he owed his listeners an explanation. Period. And I don’t.

He doesn’t owe his fans an explanation with regard to what goes on with Destiny, she is his daughter not his artist. Period.

The IRS filed a $2,584,236 lien against [him] behind owed taxes, listing the address of his Eagles Landing property in Georgia, and then followed it up a few months later in February of 2010 with a second lien for $3,365,671.”

“Then earlier this month, the government agency filed a lien with the New York City Register of Deeds for $514,298, bringing his grand total to just over $6.46 million.”

Kelis On Nas: We’re Friendly “Sometimes”

The Nas and Kelis divorce drama continues…It looks like spousal support is not the most pressing problem for Nas.  According to TMZ, the rapper is having problems making the monthly mortgage for the home Kelis is living in. Nas is behind $52,989.22.

So Nas’ lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, filed a payment plan with the court, in which the rapper agrees to pay $17,500 up front, and then pretty much double the $7,800 mortgage payment each month to catch up.

According to the docs, the plan is to sell the home stat.

During the birth of a child, women undergo some of the most excruciating pain that they ever experience in their lifetime. It is understandable that during this time she would need to be in a peaceful mind state without any distractions that might upset her. So, if for some reason or another, the father of the child and the mother are not getting along or are on the verge of splitting up, his presence might not sit well with the mother.  Because of this the first reaction is to of course side with the mother. What about the fathers needs? Should he have a right to be in the room to see the birth of his child? Do the mothers needs at the time outweigh his?   Some might argue that a man has as much of a right to build a bond with the child from the moment it comes into the world as the woman does and that any woman who does not allow that is being selfish. Especially since there are many single mothers who complain about the father of their children not desiring a relationship with their child.

Some say assume that the mother preventing the father from being in the delivery room during the birth might be a prerequisite for how the mother will be in regards to the father visiting the child and being able to bond with him in the future. An example of this would be how Nas now claims that him visiting his son is hell.  Insinuating that his now ex wife Kelis does not allow him to see the child as often as he would like.

With that being said, I direct these questions to you. Does a father have a right to be in the delivery room even if the wife insists that he is not? What if the couple is separated? Should their personal issues be put to the side for the sake of the child’s happiness? Or are the needs of the woman during the labor more important?

A spokesman for Nas confirmed to MTV that he was given some leeway in their court proceedings. The spokesman says that the charge was dismissed and that Kelis’ attorney fees and spousal support payments have been taken care of.

“The contempt charges that were filed against Nas earlier this year in conjunction with his ongoing custody battle were thrown out yesterday by Judge David Cunningham III presiding over the case. Nas has paid all of the child support owed in full. His legal counsel today also settled on additional undisclosed financial terms, which included attorneys’ fees and spousal support.”

Nas also  released a statement of his own saying that he just wants to move on.

“All I want to do is make music and raise my kids. Nothing else matters.”

Nas has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Nas appeared in court yesterday over his divorce with Kelis — and walked out a little lighter in the wallet.

According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas had to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support.

The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis.

Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis’ legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28.

TMZ is reporting that Nas has been sending Kelis emails telling her that he wants her back and telling her where she can fly to hook up with him. However, Kelis has apparently moved on and has a new boyfriend.

Last week, a judge ordered Nas to pay Kelis $200,000 in back child and spousal support. Sources say Nas is clueless he’s going under financially and doesn’t understand he can go to jail if he doesn’t pay child support.

Kelis’s lawyer filed a contempt motion against Nas last week because he owes over $200,000 in unpaid child support, along with attorney fees. As you all know, he was ordered to pay Kelis over $50k a month in child and spousal support last year and hasn’t been able to keep up with the payments. Even though Nas pleaded Not Guilty he could face jail time if convicted.

Meanwhile, Nas went in on a new song about his child support situation and Kelis’s alleged affairs in a new song titled “Strong Will Continue”:

Kelis avoids Nas at Sundance Festival

Now how did this happen without setting off a problem? Recently divorced couple Nas and Kelis played rival gigs on either side of Main Street in Park City, Utah at the Sundance Festival over the weekend and not once did they come in close contact.

According to the NY Post, Nas performed at Harry O’s, while Kelis followed John Legend at the Film Lounge at House of Hype. Kelis waited until Nas’ performance was over before starting her set. “She didn’t want to compete against her ex,” an insider said. Kelis did a soulful turn, including a Madonna-infused remix of her song “Milkshake.”
