Fresh off a heated custody battle with Halle Berry, Gabriel Aubry was spotted taking his little daughter out for a fun day at the zoo in LA yesterday. Father and daughter spent quality time together hours after a judge told Halle Berry that she could take her daughter out of state, AND that Gabriel had every right to have visitation with Nahla. Clearly these two adore each other.

Halle Berry and ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry have called a truce in the custody battle over their two-year-old daughter Nahla. According to popeater.com, Halle and her lawyer are sorting out the development in court this afternoon.

Last month, the Oscar-winning actress launched proceedings to get full custody of Nahla after claiming she was concerned for her daughter’s welfare when she was in Gabriel’s care. The couple who split last April after almost five years together – have now settled their differences, with Halle allowing Gabriel more access to Nahla.

Halle Berry says her daughter is black despite claims that her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry “went nuts” whenever anyone called their daughter Nahla that. The Oscar-winning actress, who is embroiled in a bitter custody battle with her ex, recently sat down with Ebony for the March 2011 issue and discusses motherhood, how she views her daughter’s race and dating outside her race:

“I feel like she’s Black. I’m Black and I’m her mother and I believe in the one-drop theory,” says Berry, who was born to a White mother and a Black father. “What I think is that that’s something she’s going to have to decide. I’m not going to put a label on it. I had to decide for myself and that’s what she’s going to have to decide – how she identifies herself in the world,” she continued.

Halle made sure to point out that even though she is and has dated men from outside her race, she embraces her African-American heritage:

“Well, first thing I want to say is that I’m very connected to my community and I want black people to know that I haven’t abandoned them because I’ve had a child with a man outside of my race and I’m dating someone now outside of my race who is Spanish and French…I have never been more clear about who I am as a black woman. The people I have dated sort of hold up a mirror to me and help me realize more of who I really am.”

The Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry divorce drama is starting to play out like a scene from one of her movies…Gabriel Aubry is accused of not wanting his daughter Nahla to be labeled “black.” TMZ is reporting that Gabriel would “go nuts” when he would read a story about Nahla that referred to her as “black,” he would go off, insisting his baby was white.

Gabriel would tell Halle and others they should demand a “retraction” when such references were made regarding his daughter.

I’m not sure I’m buying into this one…Gabriel knew Halle was “black” when he hooked up with her, so why would it be an issue that his daughter is not white??

Halle Berry with her daughter Nahla Ariela were unhappy to see photographers outside Barefoot restaurant in LA after having lunch with a friend. Apparently, Halle’s daughter was not feeling the paparazzi and started crying and Halle kicked into mamma mode and lost it. Halle got so mad when they wouldn’t give her space, she told them to “back the f*ck up!!” The cops had to be called.
