Jada has allegedly met with high-powered attorney Laura Wasser, who has handled a number of high-profile celebrity divorces including those of Britney Spears and Ryan Reynolds, and “has finally begun to take steps to dissolve their marriage,” In Touch (via HollywoodLife.com) is reporting.

Rumors that the couple’s marriage was in trouble began in August. The couple then released a statement denying the divorce rumors. The two, who have been married since 1997, have two children together.

And to make matters worse, a second source says Jada turned down a major role in a Keanu Reeves -directed movie because she wanted to be with her kids — Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11 – during this “difficult time.”

No official statement has been released.

SAHR NGAUJAH will reprise his Tony Award® nominated and Olivier Award nominated role of Fela Kuti for the National tour of FELA! Mr. Ngaujah has worked with a host of accomplished directors from all over the world, including Gerrit Timmers and Faulk Richter and can be seen on the TNT television show Passing Glory and in films A Lesson Before Dying, The Signal, Stomp the Yard and Blood Done Sign My Name. Under the supervision of Freddie Hendricks, Ngaujah added the accomplishment of director to his extensive experience, working with the National Black Arts Festival and Tweetakt Festival in Antwerp. During eight years of work in Amsterdam, he was theatre director and developer with Rotterdam’s Lef, ACT Festival and collaborator with Made n da Shade. Mr. Ngaujah is a first generation Sierra Leonean and is currently the art director for the Sierra Leone hip-hop act Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew.

THE DIRECTOR
BILL T. JONES is both the director and choreographer of FELA! He is a 2007 and 2010 Tony Award® winner and most recently a 2010 Kennedy Center Honoree. Mr. Jones is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2007 Obie Award and 2006 Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation CALLAWAY Award for his choreography for Spring Awakening; the recipient of the 2007 USA Eileen Harris Norton Fellowship; the 2006 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Choreography for The Seven; the 2005 Samuel H. Scripps American Dance Festival Award for Lifetime Achievement; the prestigious 2005 Wexner Prize; and the Aaron Davis Hall Harlem Renaissance Award. He is also a MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient, was named one of America’s Irreplaceable Dance Treasures by the Dance Heritage Coalition in 2000 and was awarded the 2003 Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize for which recipients are considered trailblazers who have redefined their art and reshaped the cultural landscape.

He began his dance training at the State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY), where he studied classical ballet and modern dance. After living in Amsterdam, Mr. Jones returned to SUNY, where he became co-founder of the American Dance Asylum in 1973. Before forming Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company in 1982, Mr. Jones choreographed and performed nationally and internationally as a soloist and duet company with his late partner, Arnie Zane.

In addition to creating more than 100 works for his own company, Mr. Jones has received many commissions to create dances for modern and ballet companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Axis Dance Company, Boston Ballet, Lyon Opera Ballet, Berkshire Ballet, Berlin Opera Ballet and Diversions Dance Company and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company’s The Flight Project. He has also received numerous commissions to create new works for his own company, including premieres for the American Dance Festival, the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and for St. Luke’s Chamber Orchestra. In 1995, Mr. Jones directed and performed in a collaborative work with Toni Morrison and Max Roach called Degga, commissioned by Lincoln Center’s Serious Fun Festival and with Jessye Norman in How! Do! We! Do! which premiered at New York’s City Center in 1999 as part of Lincoln Center’s Great Performers New Visions series. The Breathing Show, Mr. Jones’s evening-long solo, toured for three years, and his second solo show, As I Was Saying…, toured for more than two. He has directed and choreographed for theatre and opera, most recently choreographing Off-Broadway for the New York Theatre Workshop’s production of The Seven for which he was awarded the 2006 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Choreography and for the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, for which he received the Tony Award® for Outstanding Choreography.

Mr. Jones has received honorary doctorates from the Art Institute of Chicago, Bard College, Columbia College, the Juilliard School, Swarthmore College, Yale University and the SUNY Binghamton Distinguished Alumni Award.

The couple allowed cameras inside their 25,000-square-foot house for the first time. The house took seven years to be completed and is located in Southern California.

“Everything needed to be done by hand,” Will says. “We wanted to feel the love and labor that went into every piece of this place.” The actor says the nine-bedroom home, that includes a meditation room, has as a circular floor plan which creates “an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.”

Jada says, “for Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor. We’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land.”

The issue hits stands on August 9th.

It already seems as if the “first lady of the NBA” -as she’s often called- and her boo, Carmelo, are following in Will and Jada’s footsteps after creating  a production company together which produced “Lala’s Full Court Wedding” as well as the Mike Tyson Documentary.

When asked about Will and Jada:
“I love Will Smith and Jada Pinkett! You see the love, and you can see the support, and they partner on things and produce together. But she has a life, and he has a life.”

When asked about couples that inspire them:
“Will and Jada have a tremendous relationships, Jay-Z and Beyonce have a tremendous relationship, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, they’re a couple we see that inspires us. But we want to be ourselves. We want people to say, ‘We want our relationship to be like Melo and LaLa.’”

When asked about Lala wanting to be more than a ‘basketball wife’:
“A lot of times with basketball players, their wives, and I’m not criticizing, but their life is just about the man, what time is he getting home, why hasn’t he called me? But I’m so much more than” that. I’m a mom, I’m an actress, I’m a producer. Like, out of all that, I don’t want to just be called a basketball wife. What I see in Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, is having your own, and I tell everyone that.”

When asked about creating a business partnership:
“I saw her wanting to go into movies and producing films and documentaries and reality shows, So I said instead of letting somebody else come on board and produce all this stuff, we have the capabilities and the relationships, we can create our own production company and bring everything through that.”

I absolutely LOVE Lala and Carmelo’s relationship and I definitely don’t think it will take long for younger couples to aspire to want to have a relationship just like them!

Remind Him of What He Has
When you start to feel that you’re nagging your husband to the point of no return and nothing you’re saying is getting through, Will suggests you try a new approach. Hold him close, look him right in the eyes, and tell him that you love him, you’re right there, and you always will be, BUT you need him to pick his socks up – right now. As Will puts it, it’s important to remind him that your request is coming from a good place, and what you want is a small thing in the grand scheme of things. Um, genius!

Jaden’s contract with the movie was split into two installments: one for $900,000 and the other for $100,000. Keep in mind that when this movie was released, Jaden was only 10 years old. That’s more money than some make in their whole life, and Jaden’s made it at 10.

Since the film grossed over $150 million in the box office, Jaden took home another $2 million last year, and based on the success of the film, it’s likely that he’ll make even more.
