Jada Pinkett-Smith has teamed up with her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones and daughter, Willow Smith for a candid discussion about motherhood, quality time and the consequences of life in the spotlight for a Mother’s Day (debuting May 13th) documentary called Red Table Talk. Jada is hoping this will be the start of an ongoing conversation.

“For people to be able to sit down together and have a conversation, that’s the power of love. Love is what sometimes holds us and binds us when we’re not so happy. My belief is that communication is the best way to create strong relationships,” Pinkett-Smith says.

Amidst recent rumors of them splitting, the Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith remain resilient in their love. Jada even wrote a beautiful song for her hubby for Valentine’s Day and posted it on her Facebook wall. She also shared a poem that shows just how deep their love reaches.

These two lovebirds inspire one another to continue reaching for excellence, so much so that it is instilled in their children. The Smiths breed and maintain such a high level of success that love has no option but to thrive within them. It should be crystal clear why they have what it takes to make it last forever.

Why She Loves Him: In an acceptance speech at an Essence luncheon, Jada gushed over her superhero of a man who stood right by her side as she praised him. She said, “This man right here, holds it down–not just for me, for all of us. In just how he represents who we are in the world, internationally. It’s about expanding the limitations people try to put on all of us.” Jada loves Will because he’s, in a word, amazing.

Why He Loves Her: Will loves his wife because she’s someone that he has no doubt that he can count on. Will was asked about Jada’s essence on the red carpet of an Essence luncheon Jada was being honored at and he smiled and said, “The essence of Jada is commitment, as a central quality. She just will not break her word. That level of integrity that she possesses–you can bet on Jada. You can put your heart, your life, your dream and your wishes and hang them on Jada and know she’s not going to drop them.”

Why They Work: Any marriage is all about keeping the spark you felt when you first started dating and making sure your spouse puts forth the effort to keep you in love. In an appearance on “The View,” Jada explained, “You have to keep it spontaneous. That’s the trick to it. You’ve got to keep surprises.” Surprises come in many forms. Jada explained during a press junket in 2004, “You have to be willing to move around–to move your romance around. Kitchen, closet, park, parked car,” and we know exactly what she means. *wink wink* The dream couple also keeps divorce out of their vocabulary. Will told Ellen, “Divorce just can’t be an option.”

Why We Love Them: When you look at the Smiths, you see an effervescence that only comes from peace within. It’s not a difficult task to achieve, but it does take work. Jada made it simple when she told George Lopez, “We enjoy life, people and what we do.” That’s the key to a fulfilling live in one sentence.

Jada Pinkett-Smith Hires Divorce Lawyer?

Even though they denied the divorce rumors back in August, it looks like the divorce between Will and Jada Pinkett- Smith may be happening after all.

Jada has allegedly met with high-powered attorney Laura Wasser, who has handled a number of high-profile celebrity divorces including those of Britney Spears and Ryan Reynolds, and “has finally begun to take steps to dissolve their marriage,” In Touch (via HollywoodLife.com) is reporting.

Rumors that the couple’s marriage was in trouble began in August. The couple then released a statement denying the divorce rumors. The two, who have been married since 1997, have two children together.

And to make matters worse, a second source says Jada turned down a major role in a Keanu Reeves -directed movie because she wanted to be with her kids — Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11 – during this “difficult time.”

No official statement has been released.

Word on the street is that Will and Jada are putting up a front and that their marriage is really is over! According to Star magazine’s December 19 2011 issue divorce is on the way for Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. The couple will battle for his $520 million fortune. A source tells the mag, they’ve been separated for months and reveals the secret they’ve been keeping for years. (At this point, there’s nothing we don’t know about these two)

For those non-believers, you know the saying, where there’s smoke there’s fire!!! I personally think all is not well in this marriage!

SAHR NGAUJAH will reprise his Tony Award® nominated and Olivier Award nominated role of Fela Kuti for the National tour of FELA! Mr. Ngaujah has worked with a host of accomplished directors from all over the world, including Gerrit Timmers and Faulk Richter and can be seen on the TNT television show Passing Glory and in films A Lesson Before Dying, The Signal, Stomp the Yard and Blood Done Sign My Name. Under the supervision of Freddie Hendricks, Ngaujah added the accomplishment of director to his extensive experience, working with the National Black Arts Festival and Tweetakt Festival in Antwerp. During eight years of work in Amsterdam, he was theatre director and developer with Rotterdam’s Lef, ACT Festival and collaborator with Made n da Shade. Mr. Ngaujah is a first generation Sierra Leonean and is currently the art director for the Sierra Leone hip-hop act Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew.

THE DIRECTOR
BILL T. JONES is both the director and choreographer of FELA! He is a 2007 and 2010 Tony Award® winner and most recently a 2010 Kennedy Center Honoree. Mr. Jones is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2007 Obie Award and 2006 Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation CALLAWAY Award for his choreography for Spring Awakening; the recipient of the 2007 USA Eileen Harris Norton Fellowship; the 2006 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Choreography for The Seven; the 2005 Samuel H. Scripps American Dance Festival Award for Lifetime Achievement; the prestigious 2005 Wexner Prize; and the Aaron Davis Hall Harlem Renaissance Award. He is also a MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient, was named one of America’s Irreplaceable Dance Treasures by the Dance Heritage Coalition in 2000 and was awarded the 2003 Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize for which recipients are considered trailblazers who have redefined their art and reshaped the cultural landscape.

He began his dance training at the State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY), where he studied classical ballet and modern dance. After living in Amsterdam, Mr. Jones returned to SUNY, where he became co-founder of the American Dance Asylum in 1973. Before forming Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company in 1982, Mr. Jones choreographed and performed nationally and internationally as a soloist and duet company with his late partner, Arnie Zane.

In addition to creating more than 100 works for his own company, Mr. Jones has received many commissions to create dances for modern and ballet companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Axis Dance Company, Boston Ballet, Lyon Opera Ballet, Berkshire Ballet, Berlin Opera Ballet and Diversions Dance Company and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company’s The Flight Project. He has also received numerous commissions to create new works for his own company, including premieres for the American Dance Festival, the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and for St. Luke’s Chamber Orchestra. In 1995, Mr. Jones directed and performed in a collaborative work with Toni Morrison and Max Roach called Degga, commissioned by Lincoln Center’s Serious Fun Festival and with Jessye Norman in How! Do! We! Do! which premiered at New York’s City Center in 1999 as part of Lincoln Center’s Great Performers New Visions series. The Breathing Show, Mr. Jones’s evening-long solo, toured for three years, and his second solo show, As I Was Saying…, toured for more than two. He has directed and choreographed for theatre and opera, most recently choreographing Off-Broadway for the New York Theatre Workshop’s production of The Seven for which he was awarded the 2006 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Choreography and for the Broadway musical Spring Awakening, for which he received the Tony Award® for Outstanding Choreography.

Mr. Jones has received honorary doctorates from the Art Institute of Chicago, Bard College, Columbia College, the Juilliard School, Swarthmore College, Yale University and the SUNY Binghamton Distinguished Alumni Award.

Jada Pinkett-Smith’s show “HawthoRNe” has been canceled! This news come on top of recent divorce rumors plaguing her and her husband Will Smith, as well as the ones claiming she had an affair with co-star Marc Anthony (ultimately contributing to his divorce from Jennifer Lopez too).

After three seasons, TNT has canceled the medical drama saying:

“TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of ‘HawthoRNe.’ TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in ‘HawthoRNe.’ The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. Put those tissues away, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith may still be a couple. After the rumors hit the internet today that the couple have separated after almost 14 years of marriage, an insider close to Will and Jada tells Us Weekly the story is “100 percent not true…It’s total bulls***.”

According to TMZ, Will’s son Trey from a previous marriage took to his Twitter page and tweeted the following:

“Will and Jada getting a DIVORCE ..NOT TRUE AT ALL !! RETWEET.”

Whew, Black love still has a chance!!

Inside Will & Jada’s Calabasas Home

We love to get a feel of how our favorite celebs live and one of our favorites Will & Jada are giving us a peek inside their Calabasas retreat. The power couple opened their home to the public for the first time on the cover of this month’s Architectural Digest.

The couple allowed cameras inside their 25,000-square-foot house for the first time. The house took seven years to be completed and is located in Southern California.

“Everything needed to be done by hand,” Will says. “We wanted to feel the love and labor that went into every piece of this place.” The actor says the nine-bedroom home, that includes a meditation room, has as a circular floor plan which creates “an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.”

Jada says, “for Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor. We’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land.”

The issue hits stands on August 9th.

Lala & Carmelo Anthony Want To Be Like Will & Jada Pinkett Smith

Over the weekend, Lala and her hubby Carmelo Anthony celebrated their one year wedding anniversary. In celebration of their one year, the couple chatted with the folks at the NY Times where they discussed their own relationship as well as couple’s they look up to and aspire to be like such as Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

It already seems as if the “first lady of the NBA” -as she’s often called- and her boo, Carmelo, are following in Will and Jada’s footsteps after creating a production company together which produced “Lala’s Full Court Wedding” as well as the Mike Tyson Documentary.

When asked about Will and Jada:
“I love Will Smith and Jada Pinkett! You see the love, and you can see the support, and they partner on things and produce together. But she has a life, and he has a life.”

When asked about couples that inspire them:
“Will and Jada have a tremendous relationships, Jay-Z and Beyonce have a tremendous relationship, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, they’re a couple we see that inspires us. But we want to be ourselves. We want people to say, ‘We want our relationship to be like Melo and LaLa.’”

When asked about Lala wanting to be more than a ‘basketball wife’:
“A lot of times with basketball players, their wives, and I’m not criticizing, but their life is just about the man, what time is he getting home, why hasn’t he called me? But I’m so much more than” that. I’m a mom, I’m an actress, I’m a producer. Like, out of all that, I don’t want to just be called a basketball wife. What I see in Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, is having your own, and I tell everyone that.”

When asked about creating a business partnership:
“I saw her wanting to go into movies and producing films and documentaries and reality shows, So I said instead of letting somebody else come on board and produce all this stuff, we have the capabilities and the relationships, we can create our own production company and bring everything through that.”

I absolutely LOVE Lala and Carmelo’s relationship and I definitely don’t think it will take long for younger couples to aspire to want to have a relationship just like them!

I noticed in the first episode, you were pregnant, you had a little belly. Did you ever reminisce about when you were actually pregnant?
Oh yeah. I did. It was like, you just know all the ways of being with the stomach and how you walk. And I was thinking, I loved being pregnant! I really did. And it was kinda sad, I said, I will never be pregnant again.

One Essence editor got the chance to pick Will’s brain on how to make a marriage work.

If You Marry Your Best Friend, You’re Good
Every man wants to marry his homie, Will explained. A lot of women will impress them, but it’s the one they can always laugh with and be themselves with that will ultimately impress them the most. If you can be yourselves around each other, 100 percent of the time, and they can make you life like no one else can, you’ll never have a dull moment together.

Remind Him of What He Has
When you start to feel that you’re nagging your husband to the point of no return and nothing you’re saying is getting through, Will suggests you try a new approach. Hold him close, look him right in the eyes, and tell him that you love him, you’re right there, and you always will be, BUT you need him to pick his socks up – right now. As Will puts it, it’s important to remind him that your request is coming from a good place, and what you want is a small thing in the grand scheme of things. Um, genius!

All Men Need A Little Space
“If you don’t give your husband thirty minutes to himself when he first gets home he’ll stop coming home,” Will told me, straight up. (You’re thinking, no way, right? I did too!) Oprah’s final episodes will be a 3-part extravaganza featuring cameos from so many celebrities, we’ve lost count. Yesterday, she taped two of the last three episodes in front of 20,000 fans in Chicago’s United Center as part of her “Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular” send-off.

Beyonce opened with a performance of “Run The World (Girls).” Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith acted as hosts. Alicia Keys accompanied Maya Angelou on piano as she recited a poem about Oprah. Stedman introduced Aretha Franklin who brought Oprah to tears with her rendition of “Amazing Grace.” Jamie Foxx sang “Isn’t She Lovely” with Stevie Wonder on piano. And Usher closed the evening with a medley of “OMG” and “Oh Happy Day,” bringing out a choir.

Also making appearances are Halle Berry, Tyler Perry, Queen Latifah, Patti LaBelle, Gayle King, Michael Jordan, Madonna, Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, Simon Cowell, Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O’ Donnell, Dakota Fanning, Maria Shriver and Oprah’s frequent guests Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and Nate Berkus.

Tom Hanks hosted the event saying, “Now, Oprah, I know you do not like surprises. Let me see if I can put you at ease. There was an English playwright who said there’s no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved, and that is what tonight is all about … pulling off this little show at the United Center has been the best-kept secret.”

The “Surprise Oprah!” two-part series airs May 23 and 24, before her final episode on May 25.

There’s no denying that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have produced some talented children. Between themselves, Willow and Jaden, their family is just gushing with success! If you’ve ever wondered just how much money those Smith kids make, we’ve finally gotten our questions answered. TMZ reports that twelve year old Jaden Smith became a millionaire last year, thanks to his movie, “The Karate Kid”.

Jaden’s contract with the movie was split into two installments: one for $900,000 and the other for $100,000. Keep in mind that when this movie was released, Jaden was only 10 years old. That’s more money than some make in their whole life, and Jaden’s made it at 10.

Since the film grossed over $150 million in the box office, Jaden took home another $2 million last year, and based on the success of the film, it’s likely that he’ll make even more.

“I see my children as little people, not necessarily people to control. You’ve got to help them develop and become individuals. You have to find out who they are but enforce boundaries to keep them safe. She’s simply being creative. I’m not worried about her growing up too soon.”

“I’m very clear about what my priority is and that’s my family. I used to struggle juggling work and family at the beginning. It’s hard when you change from being single to being married to being a mother. But now I’m turning 40, I’ve found a peaceful compromise. I feel very content.” SOURCE

Terry McMillan doesn’t approve of Willow Smith playing Annie in a remake, or of the young Smith children’s careers, in general. She took to her Twitter account to express her opinion.

“The Smith children already act like child stars. There’s an arrogance in their demeanor and behavior. I find it incredibly sad. It feels like the Smith children are being pimped and exploited. Or, they’re already hungry for fame. What about 4th grade?

“A lot of A-list movie stars shielded their children from the Hollywood-world until they were old enough to decide. Look at those who didn’t. Look at Lindsay. Phoenix. To name but a few. They miss out on childhood. It’s more important than fame.

“These kids don’t already know what they “love”. Total bullshit. They’re not prodigies. They think Hollywood is real.

“Why don’t they do a remake of The Little Rascals and call it a day? Or, come up with an original film with some ethnic pride. Come on.

“Okay. I’ve said enough about the Smith children. I’m not debating about them. It’s just my opinion. People can justify anything, though.

“In 4th grade my son came home complaining that the kids in his school said I was famous and rich. I told him that was not true. That some of my books were popular but not everybody liked them. That we could afford a vacation. “Oh” he said, and went back & repeated it. I wanted him to think of me as his mother. He didn’t read any of my novels until he was 15. He only read 26 pages. Was bored.

“Have a wonderful Wednesday everybody. I raised my son. I’m not wasting another minute worrying about how Will & Jada are raising their kids.

“P.S. I loved the Karate Kid.”
