Some say a black man might like to take part in a relationship with a white woman because they are not familiar with the race.This gives the relationship in itself a kind of thrill, and makes it one to store in the memory box. The white woman looks different, acts different, smells different, comes from a different world.

A black man knows a black woman like the back of his hand, so this makes the black woman a bit of a bore.  They then seek out the unknown or thrill they think they’ll get with a white woman which they think will get them out of the  little box which they live in.

We found a website/blog that is exploring the fascination with white women and has started a dialogue for everyone to weigh in on. The site, afieldnegro.com, has put together a plethora of examples that may or may not be surprising in an effort to open up the floor to this discussion.

Angela Simmons talks interracial dating

Actor Brian White (“I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” “Stomp The Yard”) tied the knot this past Saturday to his new wife Paula Da Silva, who is of Argentianian descent.

Once he began posting pictures from the wedding on Twitter, he received a flurry of reactions from folks who disapproved of his interracial union. While he didn’t respond directly to any of the haters, he retweeted a bunch of other people’s inspirational messages.

Seems that it all started once @AmericaNewsNow asked: “Yes, she’s gorgeous but why you wanna do all the other sisters like that??”

Much discussion was made during the last presidential election about just what it meant to be ‘black.’ The result of that election saw the triumph of America’s first [insert either: black, African-American, mixed, interracial, Hawaiian, half Kenyan, former resident of Indonesia, son of a white mother, who-knows-what] President.

Some are asking: “Does it really matter?,” “Is it a point of discussion of convenience?”

Or in relation to President Obama: “Why do people make his race an issue when he largely avoided the topic during his campaign?”

But other commentators care strongly about the issue of race, asking: “Why call a person ‘black’ when he/she isn’t fully black?

And, “Why include people in discussions of black-American issues when they do not descent from the men and women who were subject to or fought against slavery in America”

Here at HelloBeautiful we have read many a user’s comment, reaching the conclusion that some black women are very reactive to the term ‘interracial.’

Hear what Tyra Banks has to say about interracial relationships

There’s a new trailer for The Princess and the Frog and it’s got us scratching our heads. It turns out that when the princess kisses the frog that he doesn’t turn into the white prince yet. She turns into a frog and then remains a frog for most of the film. What happened to our Black princess?? Not only is the prince of a lighter skin tone but we also see in this trailer that the voodoo witch doctor is a black man.

Despite controversy, ex-Spice Girl Melanie Brown is in full support of Disney’s new movie The Princess and the Frog. The star thinks the film should have been made ages ago and doesn’t mind that the Black princess is paired with a lighter skin-toned prince:

“We should be applauding interracial relationships and have more of an open mind. It’s brilliant. In this day and age, races are integrated – we have a Black president of America now – so it shouldn’t matter.”

Mel B is the first to speak on the interracial couple in the film but I’m sure many more African-American celebs will have a lot to say on this subject.
