Though Herve Leger, the designer behind the celebrity favorite bandage dress, no longer fronts his namesake label, he still has his own line Herve’ L. Leroux. However, he refuses to do runway shows because he finds today’s models depressing.

He told Vogue UK, “If I had to go back to catwalk presentations I would be in a panic. Already the models I find are too skinny, too sad. And I knew the age of the super top models, Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford, who were always lively and smiling. Today you go between several défilés and you will see the exact same type of girl – it just doesn’t inspire me,” Léger says.

Herve Leger Manages To Update The Bandage Dress

Herve Leger is a celebrity favorite, as designer Max Azria’s body hugging signature bandage dresses have a high fashion appeal but are still body-conscious and wearable.

Still, Azria is often criticized as a designer for refusing to stray from the bandage design that propelled his brand into mainstream notoriety. After all, how many short, tight striped dresses can one fashion house make?

Well, Azria marched his response to this question down the Mercedes Benz Fashion week runways this past week. The answer? At least 32 more.

The collection managed to reinvent the bandage dress is a more cutting edge way. Azria showed conceptual dresses with dramatic cuts and complicated detailing. The typical skin tight Leger mini dresses have graduated to angular, sculpted frocks. In some pieces, the bandaging technique is abandoned altogether in favor of elaborate weaving, although there is always a subtle nod to the original thrown in masterfully.

And while we’re on the topic of new things, that is one HELL of a pushup bra, T – don’t turn left or right too fast, or someone might get smacked in the eye!

What do I mean by “ressurection,” you ask? Well, if you follow celebrity style, you’ll know that this skirt looks a little familiar. Don’t celebrities know that you can’t rock something more than once without people hating on you for it?

Lucky for her, her Herve Leger mini is super cute, and totally wearable to more than one occasion. Well, maybe she could have waited a little longer in between events, but that’s fine. It looks great with her cropped leather jacket and tank, and while I kind of hate the shoes, I like where she was heading with the look. So, here’s to Xeroxing!
