Seal Files For Joint Custody In Heidi Klum Divorce

Just days after Heidi Klum filed for divorce, Seal answered back with court papers seeking joint physical custody of the couple’s four children. Heidi wants primary physical custody, with Seal getting visitation.

According to TMZ, Heidi is always with the kids when Seal was on tour, which means she may end up being the custodial parent.

Seal wants the judge to deny spousal support to Heidi. For her part, she wants to deny spousal support to Seal.

This is going to get ugly fast!

Heidi Klum and Seal have officially confirmed that they’re planning to divorce on Sunday, after rumors swirled that the couple were splitting after almost seven years of marriage. TMZ has learned that the reason for the breakup is that Heidi is tired of Seal’s temper.

We’re hearing that heir careers also played a part in Heidi’s decision. She’s the bread winner in the family and their busy schedules created a distance between them.

In an exclusive statement to People, Klum and Seal said:

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.”

“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.”

“We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy,” the statement concluded.”

Say it ain’t so! Heidi Klum and Seal are divorcing after six years of marriage.The couple will file divorce papers in the LA County Superior Court early next week, TMZ reports. Heidi will cite “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the divorce.

They were last seen together on December 27, with Heidi tweeting a picture of her and her husband smiling against the backdrop of mountains in Aspen, Colorado.

The couple got married on May 10, 2005 and have 3 biological kids. Seal adopted Heidi’s eldest daughter from a prior relationship.

Heidi and Seal are famous for renewing their vows every year on their anniversary in a lavish ceremony. In 2010, Seal gushed about the tradition:

‘Each year, Heidi and I get remarried,’ he said.

We should’ve known something was up when Heidi went solo to this year’s Golden Globes. This is one couple we thought would last!

On Klum’s web site, the pictures are accompanied by Seal’s “A Father’s Way” from “The Pursuit Of Happiness” soundtrack. Klum, 36, also posted a note about the family’s newest addition.

“It´s difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children,” she writes. “Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love?…On Friday October ninth 2009 at 7:46 pm, the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter.”

Looks like Seal and Heidi Klum won’t be going to Mexico after all to renew their wedding vows.

Life & Style reports that the expecting couple have canceled their annual plans to renew their wedding vows in Costa Careyes, Mexico, this year due to the threat of swine flu.

How to protect yourself from swine flu.

The couple renew their vows every year at the same time, location and day since their 2005 wedding.

Heidi was reportedly worried about border closings and their three small children, not to mention their unborn child.

Heidi’s rep confirms the news to Life & Style: saying “Heidi and Seal have decided to renew their vows at home in L.A. this year.”
