Drinkwel
Developed by two doctors (specifically for partygoers), Drinkwel is an all-natural multi-vitamin that can be used daily or as needed: Either take Drinkwel as a daily vitamin (with a second serving before bed on nights you drink) or on the go (take one serving before drinking and a second before bed).

Ingredients like milk thistle and artichoke leaf support liver health, amino acids help process toxins, and Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex, and superfruits help replenish vitamins and minerals you lose as you drink.

Hope everybody had a fun 4th of July; I know I did!! I ate, I drank, I ate, I drank, I drank, I drank, I drank. Yep, it happens to the best of us. I almost expected to have a pounding headache today, but last night I took some smart precautions to get me through the morning, and to work on time!

1. Drink plenty of water.
Always alternate your drinks with water. Alcohol is dehydrating, and the lack of water is what causes that pounding headache in the morning. By drinking plenty of water, you also reduce your overall alcohol consumption, and you won’t get nearly as wasted!

2. Eat something!
This is for the night of drinking and the morning after. Never drink on an empty stomach. You’ll absorb the alcohol much faster if you do, and it’s a sure-fire way to be miserable the next morning. You’ll also need to eat breakfast in the morning to get your energy levels back to normal.

3. Get plenty of rest.
Sleep the day away if you have to. Call in to work if you need to (but not if you’re on probation). A hangover isn’t a legitimate excuse for missing work, so you’ll have to turn up the theatrics to convince your boss that you’re really sick. Good luck with this tactic after a holiday though.

4. Don’t drink alcohol.
The best way to avoid a hangover is to not drink alcohol at all. There’s no hangover to be had when you’re sober!

Don’t let the miserable morning afters keep you from having an awesome time this summer. With so much available, why miss out on any of the fun opportunities? So go ahead, sing your heart out at karaoke night. Or show off your talents at trivia night at the local bar. But when your alarm starts buzzing the next morning, make sure you are ready to deal with what comes along with heavy drinking: hangovers.

Hangover remedies for the weekends are very different than hangover remedies for the weekday. Bumming around on Saturday morning trying to get rid of the headache from hell isn’t as bad as healing yourself on your commute to work. But if you are stuck on the subway with a stomach ache and headache, try to grab one of these things for the ride:

Water: Not only should you chug this the night before, but continue to do so the morning after… maybe through the afternoon to be safe. The most important thing is to be hydrated so that your body doesn’t crash.

2 Advil:… Maybe 3. Take this with water and make sure that you have some food in your stomach while you take it. The worst would be to take it on an empty stomach and end up puking what you don’t even have in your tummy.

Coconut Water: Ice cold coconut water might taste a little odd at first to those of you who haven’t had it/don’t like coconut. But the flavor is very light in comparison to what you get out of it. Coconut water is packed with electrolytes… the one thing you need when hungover.

Bagel: Not only are they delicious, but the bread absorbs everything that is upsetting your tummy. Go easy on the cream cheese and butter and you should be feeling better soon after you eat.

When you have more time to take care of yourself on Saturday or Sunday morning, try to get yourself in the kitchen. My friends and I like to call this dish The Hangover Cure. It’s a tortilla wrap filled with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and sausage. Eat it with some hot sauce and you’re golden. Feeling too sick to stand by the stove? Order it from pretty much any deli or cafe: It’s a common dish that has tons of advantages.

Spend your weekend morning taking it easy after a crazy night. Movies are long enough to help you relax and they keep you pretty distracted. I personally enjoy mindless movies when I’m tired and feel out of it. The perfect hangover movie is the one that I can doze off in the middle of and wake up and not be completely lost. Solution? Disney movies. I understand that this probably isn’t everyone’s first choice, but Disney definitely helps me feel better. Not a Disney person? It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia has never failed to make me feel better. When you feel like a sick fool the next morning there is nothing better than watching the cast get themselves in ridiculous situations and then work their way out.

Another remedy is music. I personally enjoy kicking back to some reggae music. It’s light, happy, and relaxing. Long showers or baths never fail to heal any ailment that you might have. Use your favorite products and let the warm water and steam release you of any stress that you have.

Remember to not let a hangover keep you from going hard again the next day. Take some time to relax and make yourself feel better before going to town again. If the morning was especially rough, maybe try a new drink for the next night. Certain drinks hit you harder the next morning than others. Do you have any hangover cures that work especially well for you? Fill us in: we could all use the advice!!

Luckily, New Years Day fell on a Friday this year, so if you have a hangover after partying - which you probably do - you have the whole weekend to recover.
Luckily, New Years Day fell on a Friday this year, so if you have a hangover after partying – which you probably do – you have the whole weekend to recover. But because nobody likes spending countless hours sick in bed (after all, you have a resolution to get started on!) here are some tips on how to cure that headache.

1. Drink a sports drink, like Powerade or Gatorade. It will replace the sodium and potassium missing from your system.

2. As much as we like a greasy morning-after meal, for breakfast make sure to include lean protein, low fat, and moderate carbs. Think eggs and small pancakes.

3. Exercise. It sounds unreasonable but running, jogging, and cycling-type exercises will boost your metabolism.

4. Avoid caffeine. A weak cup of coffee may be okay but a lot of caffeine will continue to dehydrate you, the opposite of what you want right now.

5. Drink orange juice for Vitamin C.

6. Eat mineral rich foods. They’re great to get your blood pumping well. Due to alcohol being a blood thinner this will thicken your blood, so to speak.

7. Take a shower, switching between cold and hot water.

8. SLEEP!

Also, be aware of the side effects of aspirin. It is a blood thinner, just like alcohol, and can intensify its effects and Tylenol (or acetaminophen) can cause more damage to your liver. Ibuprofen can also cause stomach bleeding. So be cautious when going for the quick relief.

There’s a lot of articles on the net that give guidance on how to get rid of that pesky hangover after you’ve had one too many Patrons the night before. To be honest, most of them say “pop and Advil and drink some water,” but as we all know this sometimes isn’t nearly enough to get through your day at work. Here’s HB’s list of surefire ways to get rid of that hangover!

1.	Start nursing your hangover before you go to sleep. Take some Advil, Aleve, Tylenol (or whatever floats your boat) before you hit the sack. The #1 rule of pain is if you fight it before the pain starts it’s easier to control. So if you take those meds before the headache starts it will never become a splitting FML type of headache.
2.	Eat and drink before bed. Have some crackers or bread to soak up all that alcohol before you sleep. Also, remember that a hangover is basically extreme dehydration. This means that if you drink a few large glasses of water before bed you’ll wake up less dehydrated AKA hung-over.
3.	Take a cool shower. Your blood vessels are dilated and you need to cool and soothe yourself back into shape.

4.	Water is great but Gatorade is the best. Athletes drink Gatorade because they need to fight extreme dehydration by replacing electrolytes. Consider your hangover on the same level and just drink the damn Gatorade already.
5.	Eat! Eat! Eat! Cheese, bread, eggs, bacon, home fries! This is not a time to watch your weight. Eat those greasy and oily foods to help soothe your stomach.
6.	Alka-Seltzer. This will also ease your tummy and make you feel less nauseous.

We hope these tips help you fight through your next nasty hangover! Good luck ladies!

Are last night’s festivities making your head pound and stomach queasy? Research is finally supporting what many of us already knew: Bacon helps relieve a hangover.

We’ve all tried the hangover cures in a box, can or bottle, but most people I know head for the tried-and-true greasy diner meal for relief.

(From telegraph.co.uk)

Researchers claim food also speeds up the metabolism helping the body get rid of the booze more quickly.

What to do besides drink on a date.

Elin Roberts, of Newcastle University’s Centre for Life said: “Food doesn’t soak up the alcohol but it does increase your metabolism helping you deal with the after-effects of over indulgence. So food will often help you feel better.

“Bread is high in carbohydrates and bacon is full of protein, which breaks down into amino acids. Your body needs these amino acids, so eating them will make you feel good.”

Let’s face it, if you indulge in alcohol, you’re going to eventually drink too much and and wake up with a hangover. You know the feeling that you have the next morning, where you literally feel like your hair is hurting and your mouth tastes like something curled up and died in there. Get my drift?

Here are some tips on how to cure that hangover:

(From realsimple.com)

Before You Drink
Eat fatty foods. All foods, especially fatty ones, delay the body’s absorption of alcohol, say doctors.

Eat high-fiber foods. Chris Meletis, a dean at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, in Portland, Oregon, says high-fiber foods break down alcohol and absorb it, keeping it from reaching the bloodstream as quickly.

Take Vitamin C. Often touted for its cold-fighting powers, vitamin C may also guard against hangover symptoms.

Try Hangover Prevention Formula. Two hours before you plan to start drinking, and on an empty stomach, down one capsule of this mixture of B vitamins and prickly-pear extract, which you can find over-the-counter at drugstores. Jeffrey Wiese, an assistant professor of medicine at Tulane University, says Hangover Prevention Formula (HPF) speeds up production of heat-shock proteins, which help the body fight stress and inflammation. Real Simple testers said the supplement prevented the headache they usually get from one glass of red wine. One tester drank much more heavily and gave HPF high marks the next morning.

While You Drink
Avoid congeners. What are these, exactly? Congeners are the compounds that give liquor its flavor and color, and many turn into poisonous aldehydes as they are digested the next day. “Opt for lighter-color, highly filtered alcohol,” says Wiese. Typically, the more expensive the alcohol, the more filtered it is and the fewer congeners there are to cause a hangover. Skyy vodka, for instance, makes a point of its “four-column distillation,” “three-step filtration,” and “exceptional purity.”

Stick to one kind of drink. You can keep better track of how much you’re drinking, and you’re less likely to upset your stomach.
