Spring is the perfect time to get bold and try out a new hairstyle. What better time is there to reinvent yourself? Many of us wonder how we can achieve fabulous looks without spending tons of money in the salon. Here is a stylish hairstyle that you can do yourself in just a easy steps!

How To Achieve Hip Flip Hair in 5 steps

Step 1: Shampoo hair with Pink Oil Shampoo and Pink Oil Conditioner.

Step 2: Blow dry hair with a small amount of Pink Hair Lotion to retain moisture.

Step 3: Use a large curling iron and section hair on the diagonal or slant and lightly flip the hair, causing it to feather.

Step 4: Apply Pink Oil Spritz for a medium hold.

Step 5: Style with a large tooth comb gently breaking the curls apart. Use Luster’s Pink glosser for a maximum shine.

Maintenance: Use large rollers and set like the previous curling pattern. Use Pink Holding Spray and Pink Sheen Spray.

If you’re feeling bored with your hair, it may be time to switch things up a bit without doing anything dramatic. Here are some tips from celebrity stylist June Ambrose.

Sign you need an update: You have too many different colors showing.

How to revamp: “Stylists will tell you that a little bit of root showing is nice, especially if you have auburn hair or are brunette. It gives a nice depth. When three inches of roots are showing or ends are brassy, it’s time to get things cleaned up.”

Sign you need an update: Your hair is lifeless.

How to revamp: “Hair grows fast, and if it’s been a while since your last trim you should cut hair to the healthy point. It’s like planting a new tree. If you don’t want to cut it all the way, start out with a trim. Try a wig on and play around with it a little bit and see what the response is before you go all the way and make a drastic decision.”

Sign you need an update: You want a new look, but are scared off by fashion-forward haircuts.

How to revamp: “Your hair is your crown, it’s your hat. You can have a simple look with an edgy haircut and you’re reinventing yourself. It’s an automatic upgrade. If you’re constantly getting trendy cuts like Rihanna, those are going to change more frequently, but something like Anna Wintour’s bob, that’s classic. Jennifer Aniston’s hair is pretty classic.”

Well here’s your go-to guide for how to style your own hair like Riri’s in 5 easy steps, courtesy of Glamour. Ursula Stephen explains how you can get Rihanna’s look without spending a fortune:

1. Create a good foundation by relaxing hair with Motions Silkening Shine Relaxer System.

2. Apply Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion to the longer hair at the crown, mold hair upwards and towards the right side of the head. Sit under a hooded dryer to set the style.

Did you notice that Beyonce’s hair at the Grammys had a little extra shine to it?

If so you weren’t the only one puzzled by Bey’s glitzy hairdo. We did a little investigating and learned that she wasn’t just sporting a new version of her trademark lace front wigs with a few pieces of Christmas tinsel sewn in. Her hair bling is courtesy of BellaVia Hair Glitz, which manufactures metallic ribbon strands.

The strands come in a multitude of colors, and are tied to a few hairs (either natural or in other extensions) to add pops of color. Check out the Hair Glitz below:

According to FabSugar, Kimberly Kimble, the stylist who created the look, says that she worked the string into Beyonce’s hair as an accent to match her Minx manicure.

Did a bird just fly out of her hair? What the F*** is going on with celebrities and their hair these days? Crazy hairstyles are strolling the Hollywood streets and I’m beginning to think they need to show some respect and stay indoors.

Just because you got money in the bank doesn’t give you an excuse to go buck wild with a razor ladies! Take that hard-earned cash to the shops or clubs, not the salon chair.

The 80’s are coming back with a 21^st century spin in style with the leggings, short skirts, striped shirts, skinny jeans, and bright shoes. Unfortunately, the 21^st century spin on the 80’s hairstyles has been disappointing and fairly frightening to the public eye.

What’s up with Amber Rose?

“Sometimes in life, you need a change…something deeper than what you thought you were capable of,” says Cassie explaining her newly bald head. Shaving off half your head is not a change it’s a cry for attention.

Not to long ago we were saying, “LaLa who?” Her “fiancé” Carmelo Anthony kicked her to the curb and that was the last we heard of this MTV, VH1 personality. Now she comes out with the “LaLa Remix” and is being spotted shopping along side Kim K!

Rihanna, we understand you’re going through tough times with Breezy. Wouldn’t you think a celebrity in this situation would want to refrain as much as possible from the cameras and spot light? Well, if that was the case I’m pretty sure having a hairstyle that heightens you about 8 inches is not the way to do so.

While Rihanna’s new hairstyle doesn’t make me feel any sort of way (I don’t like it…but I don’t NOT-like it, either), this blazer has to be one of the most fantastically tacky things I have ever seen in my life. If I owned one, I would never want to take it off. Which sucks, because you can only wear something this ostentatious a couple times (unless you take VERY few pictures in it) before it’s played – it’s too noticeable!

Rihanna may not be the best entertainer out there, but part of her whole appeal is her ability to rock a really loud outfit in a really fly way. So I guess she can get points for being different! But seriously. I really need that jacket.

That’s almost, but not quite, a trick question. Her new style (lace-front, I’m assuming?) is really adorable. Is there anything that doesn’t make this girl look beautiful? If you can tell me, I’d like to know.

The model/actor showed up at the Next Day Air premiere sporting this new look and fiance Lance Gross in tow. Nice to see her working after “America’s Next Top Model”!

Do You Have A “Safe” Hairstyle?

With all the recent hoopla about Cassie’s recent shave, I got to thinking about hair in general and what dramatic effects hair has on how we are perceived by society. I never colored my hair or cut it too much. The most I ever did was cut bangs and get a black rinse. This might be a naive fear of mine, but I have heard too many stories about people doing drastic things to their hair, only to wish later that they had just left it alone.

The other day, I watched an episode of “The Game” that hit close to home. The main character, Melanie, was taking care of a patient who wore lots of wigs to constantly change her look. This patient said to Melanie that she immediately categorized her as soon as she saw her because of her hair. She had the classic side-part under.

Most girls I know sport that typical hair ‘do. But the patient accused Melanie of playing it safe. Her hairstyle screamed “Don’t look at me.” It’s a hairstyle that won’t draw any unnecessary attention to herself.
