I had to stare at this picture for a longgggggg time before I could figure out what to say about it. I was literally speechless. Vanessa Williams has apparently picked her album release party as the right time to hire a drag queen as her stylist. It’s like someone got her drunk, blindfolded her, and locked her in Patricia Field til she came out in whatever she could find. I’d say she’s too old to wear something like this, despite her hot cougar body, but I don’t think anyone, of any age, could wear all this crap put together and pull it off. Judging by the way she normally looks on the red carpet, I’m pretty sure someone told her she needed to “funk” it up a little bit for her album release, so she went along for the ride, but the whole time was secretly thinking, “I can’t believe I let you make me wear this s&*t.”

BRB, I gotta grab some tissues. My eyes are bleeding.

What do you think of this look?

Toni Braxton is a lot like Tyra Banks – every time you see her, she’s got a different hairstyle! That’s the beauty of weaves and wigs – you can reinvent your look whenever you’re in the mood for a change. But I’m not so sure about this new look Miss Toni’s rockin – I know everyone’s going for the Barbie look these days, but it seems kind of corny to me. I think I prefer Toni’s shorter styles, but maybe that’s just my own opinion.  Pretty dress, though!

Precious star Paula Patton is looking absolutely precious at the movie’s premiere in this shiny blue dress, complete with a haircut that seems to totally fit her sunny personality. Her new look is fun – which is hugely different from “glam” or “sexy” or “flirty,” etc. She just looks like she’s having a great time in her own skin. Love it!

Remember when the Cheetah Girls were all the rage with pre-teen Disney fans everywhere? Remember when two of the Cheetah Girls were actually members of tween girl band 3LW? It’s really beneficial to be in people’s good graces as a person in general, but it’s even more beneficial when you’re a celebrity. Cause when you go out in a really crappy outfit, people are less inclined to slam your look because you’re so well-received by your audience in general.

Take Nia Long, for example. She’s really adorable and everyone loves her for no real reason at all. She’s just cute and able to stay out of media beef and negative paparazzi eye. So even though I really hate what she’s wearing, I kind of feel bad saying so. But I do. I really do hate it. She’s just heading to a restaurant and minding her own business, but what would GLAM OR GROSS? be without commentary?

What in Hefty bag hell does Eve have on? I’m slowly starting to think this shiny plastic dress trend should stay where it originated – at stripper clothing boutiques – and quit appearing on the red carpet. While Fergie’s was tolerable, Eve’s reminds me of those Duct Tape Prom Dress contests – you know, the ones where you and your date make your outfits out of tape and win a scholarship or a car or something? It pains me to think this is couture; people will buy anything if there’s a famous label attached to it.

At any rate, here she is, at last night’s New Now Next Awards, looking like she just hopped off the corner and didn’t have time to change before hitting the red carpet.

The Rwandan beauty queen’s dress is actually so red, it’s hard to see it against the red carpet. Could be considered a fashion/paparazzi snafu, but it’s such a great gown, I wouldn’t have passed it up, either.

Paired with a ponytail, shoulder bag and cute gold shoes, she looks less like she’s trying to get cute for the red carpet and more like she was caught by paps on her way out to party with her girls. Love it!

Something about this Victoria’s Secret model is very….different. I can’t put my finger on it, but what I DO know is that I don’t much like it. Maybe it’s her new hair color? Style? Whatever. The point is, here she is at a Victoria’s Secret event, and I don’t think she’s pregnant, but maybe I’m not up on my news. But if you’re not pregnant, and you look pregnant, that sucks.

Socialite Genevieve Jones is one of the most adorable dressers I’ve ever seen. I’ve always loved her because not only does she have a great sense of style, but it looks like she really, truly doesn’t put too much thought into an oufit, and she never looks uncomfortable. And even though this dress looks like a piece of shiny chiffon she copped at a fabric store, cut arm holes in, and belted, she somehow still wears it like it was made for her. And those shoes!!!!

Here’s Taraji P. Henson at a Herve Leger event last night.  Pretty dress, but umm…what’s going on with this new haircut of hers? It’s like a weird version of helmet hair. No me gusta. And while we’re on the topic of new things, that is one HELL of a pushup bra, T – don’t turn left or right too fast, or someone might get smacked in the eye!

We’ve been following Rihanna’s outfits a LOT lately – her chic tux at the MET ball, those short-shorts and leather leggings/boots, that studded yellow blazer, and, most recently, her shopping bustier.  But while we REALLY want to give it a rest (seriously!), I came across this white suit and leopard shirt combo and couldn’t resist.

I don’t know where she’s going, but Rihanna looks great! Reports say she’s been looking around the West Village in NYC for an apartment, but who knows – she could have just been going out to lunch. Either way, this outfit is so effortless and chic that it deserved a shout out.

Boy, it isn’t being green. Here’s Gayle King at the Time 100 Most Influential People event looking very shiny and very… colorful.

I think I would actually like the dress more if it wasn’t so tight (there’s definitely about to be a bit of booby overflow up there), and if it didn’t tie in the front. She just doesn’t look very comfortable, which is what any red carpet outfit is about, regardless of how crazy it is. If you don’t look like you want to wear it, why would we?

While Rihanna’s new hairstyle doesn’t make me feel any sort of way (I don’t like it…but I don’t NOT-like it, either), this blazer has to be one of the most fantastically tacky things I have ever seen in my life. If I owned one, I would never want to take it off. Which sucks, because you can only wear something this ostentatious a couple times (unless you take VERY few pictures in it) before it’s played – it’s too noticeable!

Rihanna may not be the best entertainer out there, but part of her whole appeal is her ability to rock a really loud outfit in a really fly way. So I guess she can get points for being different! But seriously. I really need that jacket.

Andre Leon Talley is one of few men to get their very own GLAM OR GROSS? post (Norwood Young and Dwight Eubanks being the other two lucky dudes), because when I saw this picture today, I laughed for a solid 3 minutes before I could do anything else with my day.

The Vogue editor is seen here at last night’s Costume Institute Gala at the Met, and he looks like he came prepared to go cliffjumping mid-event! All I’m saying is, when you’re really, really tall, and not very small, the more fabric you rock, the more you blur the line between “couture” and “muu muu.”

It may be summer, but Gabrielle Union has no problem going all black! She stepped out to the Kentucky Derby this weekend in a black strapless dress, tasteful black hat, and matching accessories.

Some might think she’s headed to a summer funeral, but I think she looks great – not too underdressed, and not tacky, either.

Australian veejay Faustina “Fuzzy” Agolley stepped out in this floor-length goldenrod gown to attend the 51st TV Week Logie Awards in Melbourne, and she looks lovely!

Those of us in the States don’t know much about the former model, but I spotted her on another site and thought she could use a little American shine. Love the color combo of the bag/dress!

Whatever’s resting on her head is less of a hat and more of…some kind of exploding headpiece. It also matches her shoes. But does it match her peacock dress? In my opinion, this is one outfit that just tried way too hard. Besides, it’s the Kentucky Derby – it’s hot outside! She was probably burning up in that material.

But kudos to her for looking like that at her age.

What do you think of her derby style?

Erykah Badu could give a shit less what you think of her outfits. And because of that personality, she gets away with a whole lot of mess, even at her very worst. But this one just makes me laugh.

It’s really just a hat, but combined with the glasses, Ms. Badu looks like she’s leaving straight from this party to throw on a little scarf and hop into a 1930′s prop plane. She should smile while taking pics in this headgear, cause it’s just too funny to take seriously. I adore her.

It’s so refreshing to see celebs in sneakers. Unfortunately, you never, ever do. So when I saw this picture of a sneaker-clad Keri Hilson casually making her way to Mr. Chow in London yesterday, I loved it! Nothing like an artist who doesn’t care if you catch her on a super-laid-back tip.

Cap, sweatshirt, ripped jeans, sneakers – see? You don’t need platforms and a booty cheek hanging out to look adorable.

What do you think of Keri’s outfit?

That’s almost, but not quite, a trick question. Her new style (lace-front, I’m assuming?) is really adorable. Is there anything that doesn’t make this girl look beautiful? If you can tell me, I’d like to know.

The model/actor showed up at the Next Day Air premiere sporting this new look and fiance Lance Gross in tow. Nice to see her working after “America’s Next Top Model”!

What do you think of Eva Marcelle‘s new hairstyle?

Unfortunately, when I first came across this picture of Ashanti at the Next Day Air premiere last night, I thought, well, that’s a cute change for her – not too tight, not too dressy, not too tacky. And I like that feather necklace!

Yet, upon further inspection, I realized that it’s actually not a necklace…just a feather, in the middle of her strapless top. And I don’t like it. But otherwise, this is good for her. She’s not usually on point with her dress.

Here’s young model Chanel Iman at last night’s “Matthew Williamson for H&M” event in New York City. She wore a braided headband paired with a flirty little dress that quite resembles a tshirt.

Everyone’s giving her a bunch of flack because it looks like she’s just wearing a shirt without pants, but I personally think it’s cute. She’s 20; give her a break. Besides, if I had legs that long, y’all would be lucky if I wore clothes at all.

She’s one of the prettiest girls I’ve ever seen, but when Alicia Keys first stepped onto the scene, I wasn’t really into her fedora-and/or-cornrows style that she rocked over and over again. But then she started doing different things with her hair, and wearing more flattering clothes, and I began to admire her for more than her music. I’m not always a fan of her looks, but it seems like the older she gets, the flyer she looks.

However, when I saw this picture of Ms. Keys in shiny denim, cornrows, hoops, and some sort of shirt, I had to double-check and make sure I was seeing a picture taken in 2009. What’s going on here? I don’t think I’m a fan. She reminds me of one of my mom’s friends. My mom’s friends are fly, but she’s 28, not 54.
